War Eagles wallop NFC Wakulla shows off muscle in 42-23 victory over North Florida Christian

By WILLIAM SNOWDEN editor@thewakullanews.net

Wa k u l l a H e a d Coach Scott Klees predicted before the game that his team might not be focused. To be expected, he said, after the big win last week over district rival Rickards to win the district championship. And he was right. The defense and special teams played well and kept it tight until the offense woke up – and then the War Eagles were unstoppable, improving their record to 7-1 on the season. The final score of 42-23 makes it seem closer than the game actually was. At one point in the third quarter, it was 42-9. Wa k u l l a ’ s s t a r t ers sat out the fourth quarter and the younger players got some playing time. “I’m proud of the way our team came out and played,” Klees said. “Defensively and special teams played really well. The offense was slow, but got going.” The War Eagles paid for the last two victories with some injuries: Justin Davis and Antonio Morris were hurt, and Chris Beverly and Bucky Mcglammary didn’t dress out for the NFC game after getting banged up against Rickards. Though Klees said he wasn’t sure what to expect against this week’s opponent, Arlington Country Day School fr om Jack-
