By ETHEL SKIPPER Thanksgiving and complaining – two words and two contrasting attitudes of the souls of Christians. The soul that gives thanks can find comfort in everything; the soul that complains can find comfort in nothing. God’s command is, In everything give thanks, for this is the Will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. A great many Christians have never realized this and, although they may be familiar with the command, they have looked upon it as a counsel of perfection. As Christians, we find ourselves complaining whether on the temporal or spiritual plane. It always has in it the element of faultfinding. To complain means to make a charge or an accusation. It really doesn’t mean disliking the things we have to go through. Thanksgiving always involves praises of the giver. We read many times in the Bible to praise the Lord, let everything that has breath praise the Lord, praise His holy name. He loves the praises of His people. When you look around, there’s more to praise Him for than we can see so let’s keep on praising Him. There is no time to complain. As Christians, we spend more time praising man, but God teach-
