Obituary
MOORE, Elwood Lorne, formerly of Fonthill, passed away at Pinecrest Manor, Lucknow ON, on Monday, December 16, 2013 in his 97th year. He was born on 9 Aug 1917 to Melvin Lorne Moore and Florence Fisher in the former Gainsborough Township, on Regional Road 24, West of Vineland ON. Beloved husband of Jessie “Maragaret” Moore (née Moote) who predeceased him 4 months earlier this year. Dear father of Lois (Andy) Bohun of Lantzville, B.C. and Brian (Helen née Saxby) Moore of RR#8 Kincardine ON. Loved grandma of Dr. Sean Bohun (Angela), Dr. Monique Bohun (Gilbert Tagalog), Ian Bohun, Dave Moore (Amber), Darren Moore and Doug Moore (Sue) and great-grandpa of Zane and Kian Bohun, Oliver and Claire Tagalog and Hannah and Sarah Moore. Predeceased by his brothers John “Wesley” Moore (Elva) and Lloyd Stanley Moore (Gretta), and his sisters Marjorie Eleanor (Robert “Wylie”) Smith and Muriel Gertrude (Morley) Davis. Survived
by his loving sister Evelyn Louella (Norris) Smith who currently resides at the Mennonite Home in Vineland ON. Elwood was an active member of the Fonthill Baptist Church and Fonthill Community where he lived from 1940 until March of 2011. He worked as a tool and die machinist at Haun Drop Forge in Welland until he retired. He was also a skilled carpenter who shared his talents with his friends in the community and family. He was noted for his grandfather clocks for which he was featured in a Pelham News article. He was an avid gardener and did his best to beautify his garden at 27 Church Hill Road before the era of Canada Blooms competitions were heard of. A wonderful man, father, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather will be deeply missed by his immediate family, relatives and friends. Private family arrangements entrusted to the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine. A private interment to be scheduled in June 2014 at the gravesite in Fonthill Cemetery.
