Learn about the activities of the Korean American Business Association

The Korean American Businessmen's Association of New York (KABA) is a CEO CLUB, trade association, and the New York Chapter of World Octa, the oldest organization of Korean American business owners in New York City, dating back to the founding of the Broadway Merchants Prosperity Association in 1978 by its first president, Young Chul Kim, to its current president, Jung Hak Yoo.

In 1994, New York City Mayor Giuliani named the 32nd Street and Broadway area developed by Kyung Hyeon as Korea Way, laying the foundation for the creation of K-Town, today's food district. Kyung Hyeon also founded and operated Broadway National Bank (BNB Bank) as a promoter, laying the foundation for Korean financial institutions to converge on Broadway in Manhattan and grow into a vibrant financial district, and established the Manhattan Korean School in 1981 to ensure that the children of its members and their compatriots do not forget their native language and Korean culture.

As one of the most prominent economic organizations in the New York Korean community, Kyung Hyeon has produced talented people who are needed to run the Korean community, including many chairmen and vice-chairmen of the New York Korean American Association and the Democracy and Peace Advisory Council. In 2003, Kyung Hyeon started the Next Generation Trade School in New York for the first time, and it is held every August.

In addition to the golf tournament for the Manhattan Korean School Educational Scholarship Fund in June, the Next Generation Trade School in August, overseas branching business support, global employment support project, and K-Biz Expo export exhibition in September, and businessmen's night in December.

The current president, Yoo Jung-hak, who is also running for senior vice president, said, "I will focus on promoting strong friendship among members so that we can cooperate and mutually benefit from each other through integration and win-win." He said that he will work to hold an export consultation exhibition every fall in cooperation with Octa Headquarters, KOTRA, AT Agriculture and Fisheries Distribution Corporation, and trade associations, and that he will continue to support the Manhattan Korean School and the Next Generation Trade School, which are affiliated with the association, to further establish themselves.
