Did you know? A few facts about tea to read while you wait for your tea to brew: Tea is the second most widely drunk drink in the world. The first is water In Britain we drink 165,000,000 cups of tea each day, that’s an average of three cups a day per person Tea has half the caffeine content of coffee. The caffeine it does contain releases more slowly into the bloodstream generating a feeling of calmness and wellbeing Matcha green tea has 70 times the number of antioxidants of orange juice and contains one of the most powerful immune-boosting and anti-cancer substances known to man. Discover the secrets of this special green tea the Japanese have been drinking for centuries! The tea bag emerged onto the tea drinking scene in 1904 Afternoon Tea was introduced into polite society by the Duchess of Bedfont in the mid-19th century Tea rehydrates as well as water. It contains flavonoids, antioxidants and can protect against heart disease and some cancers. Green tea has a high content of vitamins, minerals and fluoride. Some argue it’s healthier than water! Tea is calorie-free. Hurray! (Without milk that is. Boo!) Approximately 80% of caffeine can be removed from tea by steeping it for 30 seconds and pouring off the water before re-steeping ™
