Superior Healthcare supports children, young people and adults with long-term health conditions (as well as their loved ones) by providing round-the-clock complex care at home. We partner with case managers to provide a comprehensive care service that caters to the individual requirements and preferences of your client. When putting a new care package together, our experienced team works carefully to create a bespoke plan that not only suits your client’s healthcare needs - but empowers them to live their life and accomplish their goals too. Our Story Superior Healthcare was founded in 2006 by Stewart Thorp after a road traffic accident changed his family’s life forever. While cycling along a country lane in 2001, his sister, Katie, was knocked from her bicycle by a driver who was using his phone. Katie suffered a severe head trauma and was placed on life support for four weeks. After three months in the Paediatric Care Unit at King’s College Hospital, Katie was moved to the Children’s Head Injury Service at Chailey Heritage in East Sussex. Here, Katie learned to walk and talk again with the guidance and care of support workers, nurses and a team of healthcare professionals including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists and neurologists. While she worked on her health, her family worked on a plan to bring her home. Along with his father, Charles, Stewart Thorp was then introduced to Sarah Richards – the Registered Nurse tasked with recruiting the team that would continue to support Katie at home. This experience led Charles, Stewart and Sarah to realise the significance of (and need for) a specialised care service that would close the gap between independent care providers and national organisations – soon after, Superior Healthcare was brought into existence.
Stewart and Charles found themselves facing the unknown when it came to making the right care decisions for Katie. The accident meant they were suddenly in the midst of a difficult situation that couldn’t have been foreseen, but it also forced them to take action and do whatever was required to protect her and keep a smile on her face. Knowing the right carers and nurses are by her side really does make all the difference, and Superior Healthcare couldn’t have got to where it is now without them.

Exceptional Quality of Service Our team ensures we can provide both an excellent and consistent level of service. Our Nurse Managers, including separate Adult and Paediatric Clinical Leads, have the expertise, skills and resources to deliver the level of care your client requires. Person-Centred Superior Healthcare’s dedicated Nurse Manager team offers a complete service that covers everything from client assessment to bespoke care package creation and management. Tailored care is at the core of what we do, as every aspect is adjusted to suit your client’s individual needs and preferences. Continuity of Service We’re committed to providing ongoing stability while delivering your client’s care package. As well as ensuring cover is continuous and consistent, our team will take care of any short-notice care arrangements too. Keeping You Informed Both you and your client will receive regular communication and updates from our senior team, so you can rest assured that all aspects of their care will be managed. We provide clear and concise monthly reports on the service and regular updates on the care your client is receiving. All-Round Care As part of our fully managed service, and with your permission, we can liaise with your client’s GP and other health professionals throughout in order to make sure all caregivers are familiar with their care programme and notified of any changes and updates.

provide cover as and when it’s needed. Over the Covid-19 period, we were able to maintain a 98.8% cover rate which included last-minute requests and night shifts.
Flexible Approach Superior Healthcare will tailor its services to suit your client’s needs – we can cover all aspects of staffing, or simply assist with a care package already managed by you.
Collating Evidence The Superior Healthcare team can work with you to ensure all necessary evidence and documents are gathered in an organised, timely manner to provide your client with a strong foundation when building their claim.

Training Superior Healthcare upholds a thorough training programme designed to cover all aspects of The Care Certificate. In addition to this, Superior Healthcare provides its carers with further training opportunities that are tailored to clients. These training sessions ensure all nurses and carers assigned to your client are prepared and educated to the highest standard. We develop specific teams for our clients and make sure these groups of carers and nurses are provided with specialist training so they’re ready to work with people with complex healthcare needs. Training is ongoing, and – in order to manage your client’s needs as they change over time – Superior Healthcare will continue to provide additional extensive training and resources to
reflect the ongoing requirements of the client. Our nurse managers then provide full and ongoing support to the care team.
Personal Experience Having experienced care and rehabilitation within their own family, Superior Healthcare’s management team has made it their mission to create an inclusive, understanding community of carers and staff who are good at what they do – and love doing it.
