Mary L. Langenback
James T. Shields
Mary Lou Langenback of Dresser died July 8, 2015, at the St. Croix Regional Medical Center in St. Croix Falls. She was 75. Mary Lou was born on N Nov. 2, 1939, in Arlington, N Neb., to parents John and V Vernetta (Mitchell) Lund. S She moved with her family w when she was eight years o old to Wisconsin. She marrried Charles Langenback o on Feb. 6, 1960, at the Litttle Brown Church in Iowa. M Mary Lou loved spending ttime with her family playiing cards to coloring with h her grandchildren. Family w was everything to her as a day didn’t go by where she called or talked with her children or grandchildren. She loved crocheting, knitting, sewing, music, flowers, watching the birds and squirrels. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents John and Vernetta. Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Charles; daughters, Kimberly (Alan) Kahl of Centuria, Maria (Greg Smith) Langenback of Milltown; sons, John (fiancé Jodi) Langenback of Osceola and Martin (Beverly) Langenback of Dresser; sister, Jean Minnick; grandchildren, Justin and Josiah (Tanya Brown) Mortenson, Nathaniel and Matthew Kahl, Joshua Langenback-Cross and Matthew Langenback, Olivia Smith and Kristy Haak, great grandchildren, Xander Haak and Paxton Haak. Funeral services were July 13 at Bethesda Lutheran Church at Sand Lake with Rev. Peter Rimmereid officiating. Music was provided by Myrna Westin and Matt Kahl. Interment followed the service in the church cemetery. Serving as casketbearers were Justin and Josiah Mortenson, Nathaniel, Matthew and Alan Kahl, Greg Smith and Ronald and Robert Minnick. Honorary casketbearers were Matthew Langenback and Joshua Langenback-Cross. Arrangements were by Grandstrand Funeral Home in Osceola. Condolences maybe left at www.grandstrandfh.com
James “Duke” T. Shields of Milltown died March 29, 2015, at the Christian Community Home in Osceola. He was 58. James was born on June 11, 1956, in Morton Grove, IIll. to Thomas and Delores ((Hicks) Shields. He attende ed and graduated from sschool in Morton Grove. Aftter high school he worked ffor the Searle Company and tthe U.S. Postal Service beffore he started his own conttracting and woodworking b business. He truly loved w working as a contractor a and woodworker. His love o outside his business was fishing and just being an outdoorsman. He also used his talent and started crafting his own fishing rods. He was a true fan of John “Duke” Wayne. He will be remembered for the times spent with his two children and three granddaughters. James was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Delores. James is survived by his children, Chris (Stephanie) Shields of Chicago, Ill., and Katie (Jerry) Lentz of McHenry, Ill.; his three granddaughters, Payton, Jayden and Zoey Shields as well as aunts and uncles, Doug and Lynne Tripamer of Osceola, Jackie Mallar of Pingree Grove, Ill. and Suzanne Laine of Illinois. I have mentioned in a sermon recently the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald, the iron ore carrier which sank November 10th, 1975. It is a fascinating story. One of the interesting things about building
