By Eton Concepcion EIGHTEEN-YEAR-OLD, halfBrazilian Nikki de Moura of Cagayan de Oro City was named Miss Teen Philippines 2019 at the grand coronation held at New Frontier Theater, Araneta Center, Wednesday night. De Moura edged out 30 other teen candidates and was crowned by Nicole Villar, Miss Teen Philippines 2014 and Miss Teen International 2016 1st runner-up. Named 1st runner-up was Patricia Beerda of Western Visayas, while Nicole Borromeo of Cebu and the newly crowned Reyna ng Aliwan 2019 placed 2nd runner-up. Mikki Barcelaof Albay and Joanna Kalkschmidt of Iloilo finished as 3rd and 4th runners-up, respectively. The teen beauty, who loves painting and Muay Thai, was one of three representatives of Northern Mindanao region. She will be the new ambassador of the pageant’s “global readiness through education” campaign. Miss Teen Philippines 2019 grand coronation will be aired on ABS-CBN Channel on May 19.
