THE SERVANT CENTER

YEAR 2022-2023

A LETTER FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR SHANNA REECE

Dear Partners, Donors, Volunteers and Friends of The Servant Center, As Executive Director for The Servant Center, I am pleased to present to you this annual report highlighting our FY 22-23 accomplishments as we live out our mission to serve veterans, others experiencing homelessness, and/or those with disabilities. It is with immense pride and gratitude that I share the progress and impact we have made in the past year. None of these achievements would have been possible without our dedicated team of staff, committed volunteers, and the unwavering support we have received from our partners and donors. While we have accomplished much, our work is not done – there are veterans, individuals and families who are sleeping under bridges, in cars and abandoned buildings in our community every night. Guilford County currently has more than 200 individuals and families experiencing homelessness who are waiting on help to find and secure affordable housing. Looking ahead, we remain fully dedicated to our mission and strive for an even greater impact. As many of you know, we have been working to expand services for the veterans who live at Servant House. In fact, we are exploring an opportunity for us to fulfill that goal, as well as serve additional persons in our community who are experiencing homelessness. More to come in the next few months……. Together, I know we will continue to work towards a future where every veteran, individual and family has a safe and stable home.

Proudly served ~150 Veterans this year!

“My name is M. Holland, I have been at the Servant House since December 2022, I have been homeless almost 2 years. I have been at the Shelter in Burlington, High Point, and Greensboro just shelter hopping. Since being at the Servant House I have gotten more done for myself positively. I have moved into permanent housing in August of 2023 which I am very happy about. I feel I am in a better place since I came to the Servant Center, it has been the best place for me. This will be the second time in my life that I will have a lease in my name since 2009. I am happy about living alone now and having my own place. I thank the Servant Center staff for helping me secure housing and getting in a better place in my life.”
