Transit meeting in Agincourt
Frank Klees, the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party’s transportation critic will speak to residents and take questions at a “town hall” meeting next Wednesday, March 13. at the Agincourt Public Library on Bonis Avenue. The one-hour event at 7 p.m. is organized by the Scarborough-Agincourt Pr ov i n c i a l Pr o g re s s i v e Conservative Association, which said it will be open to
the public. Klees is MPP for the riding of Newmarket-Aurora.

Seedy Saturday leaves Scarborough Seedy Saturday, an event where residents could sell or trade their garden seeds, will not take place in Scarborough this year. People interested in such exchanges, however, can visit the farmer’s market at Evergreen Brick Works on Bayview Avenue this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a
pay-what-you-can Seedy Saturday event. In previous years, Heron Park Recreation Centre and the East Scarborough Storefront had hosted Seedy Saturdays in March, but the event in Scarborough does not seem to have survived the end of the Live Green Toronto community animators program.

Police seize loaded gun Toronto police seized a loaded firearm and arrested
a man and two women after executing a search warrant on Boyce Avenue, a street near the intersection of Brimley and Danforth roads. The Emergency Task Force assisted the 42 Division Major Crime Unit in the search last Wednesday, police said. Nicholas Geness, 19, Jahvarre Cousins, 23, and Donnette Ansah, 23, face a total of 26 charges including unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon, altering, defacing, or removing a serial number on a firearm, and
unauthorized presence of a firearm in a motor vehicle. Anyone with information useful to the investigation is asked to call 42 Division at 416-808-4200 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).

March Break event slated for zoo The Toronto Zoo offers lots to do for parents and children looking for March Break activities next week. Events go from Saturday, March 9, to Sunday, March
17 during zoo hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visitors can visit the many animals at the zoo, including the polar bear exhibit, African white lions, Western lowland gorillas, Arctic wolves and more. There are also five tropical pavilions. During March Break, the zoo will be giving visitors a break with food and gift shop specials.
