Help The Roses Bloom
We need to raise £50,000 this year
We urgently need your help to raise £50,000 to replace our projector, improve our electrics and remove the asbestos.
The Roses opened its doors in 1975 and it’s fair to say that as it’s entering its golden anniversary, behind the lovely foyer and modern bar, backstage is far from reflective of what our customers see.
Funding and grants are focussed on audiences and not on improving the building or technology.
Help The Roses Bloom.
Find out more and donate at: rosestheatre.org/bloom

Hello!
I trust the beginning of your year has been nothing short of amazing.
You may have seen that our projector bid us farewell just before Christmas and as one of the first digital ones in the UK, it persevered longer than anyone could have imagined. Yet, with shifting audience preferences and the escalating costs of licenses and venue maintenance, combined with an inflexible distribution model, cinema at The Roses is currently incurring losses. Grants and funding available to us are predominantly geared toward audiences, leaving us with a funding gap for essential equipment.
The Roses has long been synonymous with providing the community with a great night out, evident in the fact that three out of four of our shows sell out. However, with 80% of the ticket income going directly to our talented performers, the remaining portion must cover essential staff and utilities.
To ensure the continuity of cinema at The Roses, we need your support. Initially, to assist in raising £25,000 to secure a new projector, and subsequently, to enjoy the magic of films when we’re back in full swing.
For those eager to find out more and contribute, please visit rosestheatre.org/projector
Your support is not just an investment in The Roses but a commitment to preserving cinema in our community.

Cinema at The Roses
At the time of print, we announced The Roses had to bid farewell to our cinema projector, one of the oldest in the UK. Event cinema remains unaffected.
We have a deep determination to preserve cinema at The Roses, particularly in a town like Tewkesbury, with its rich cinematic heritage dating back to the early 20th Century.
We are working closely with our community to craft a fresh strategy for cinema programming. The goal is clear: to ensure that the community’s voice resonates in every decision made, forging a path that aligns with both the theatre’s sustainability and the desires of the theatre’s loyal customers.

Paul Young: Behind the Lens
FRI 10 MAY 7.30PM
He’s been a major star for four decades. It’s time to revel in the classic hits and learn the stories behind them as Paul steps out from Behind The Lens.

More success followed with the number one album The Secret Of Association and the worldwide hit Everytime You Go Away, not forgetting, an appearance at Live Aid and more. Paul sustained that success—while having fun in his tex-mex band, Los Pacaminos.
Now, on the 40th anniversary of No Parlez, he’s releasing a remarkable new record and publishing his extraordinary memoir; both called Behind The Lens. He’s touring the UK where he’ll meet fans, sing songs and tell stories about his incredible career.
