What goes on at Quirky HQ? Our 25,000 square foot office space serves as inspiration to our staff of 70 employees including industrial designers, mechanical and electrical engineers, community and invention ambassadors, and sales teams. After ideas are submitted and chosen, the designers create prototypes to get a better feel as to what the product will look like. We host weekly, live video brainstorm meetings with our design teams and our community to flesh out various scenarios for product design and functionality. Our main space gets transformed every Thursday night into a theatre-style environment. One hundred and twenty folding chairs come out, the projection screen comes down, and we all vote on our favorite products from that week. We receive about 1,500 product ideas a week and try to look at each one of them. After narrowing down our top selections we then present them to our community during our live weekly product evaluation meetings. How is your space designed to allow you to support product innovation as well as a social network? Our space is designed to enable creativity within our groups. We also provide full access to our process via cameras during our brainstorm sessions and product evaluation meetings.
