FIBERTRAC, SOLITRAC, MINITRAC, POINTRAC, WEIGHTRAC Radiation-based sensors for level, density and mass flow measurement Measuring principle In the radiation-based measurement, a Caesium 137 or Cobalt 60 isotope emits focused gamma rays. A special sensor located at the opposite side of the vessel receives this radiation. The so called scintillator converts the gamma rays into signals, their number is detected and processed. Because gamma rays are damped when penetrating the substance, the sensor can calculate the level, the limit level, the density or the mass flow out of the received radiation.

Applications Level measurement With FIBERTRAC and SOLITRAC level changes are contactlessly measured through the vessel wall. Since the measuring facility is mounted on the outside of the vessel, the measurement is insensitive to extreme process conditions. Also measurements on pressurized vessels or on vessels with agitators can be simply realized. For round vessel forms the flexible FIBERTRAC is recommended, which can be simply mounted on the vessel. A high reliability can be reached with SOLITRAC on cylindrical vessels. The sensors are cascadable for very large measuring ranges.

Density measurement The non-contact, continuous density and concentration measurement of liquids and bulk solids with MINITRAC is suitable for pipelines and vessels. The measuring principle is independent of aggressive products and ensures a high reliablity. The sensor mounting is carried out on existing pipelines. With small tube diameters an inclined radiation or the use of a measuring track is recommended. In case there is also a temperature sensor connected, then MINITRAC takes the heat expansion of the medium into account. Furthermore the mass flow of MINITRAC can be calculated with the signal of a flow volume measuring instrument. This ensures reliable measurement results and permanent process continuity even with extreme process conditions.

Flow measurement The WEIGHTRAC determines contactlessly the exact delivery volume of solids. Through the frame construction, the sensor can be simply mounted to the conveyor belt. The measurement runs wear and maintenance-free. A simple and reliable adjustment of the sensor saves time during setup. The WEIGHTRAC is suitable for conveyor systems, for example conveyor belt weighers, screw conveyors, chain trough conveyors, steel plate conveyors, bucket conveyors.
