Kate Creadon and Judie Gargano, members of the GFWC/NJSFWC Womanʼs Club of Westwood, display a lantern symbolizing support for the New Jersey Childrenʼs Alliance, the designated state project for 2024–2026. The Shine the Children Walk took place in Trenton on April 4, aiming to illuminate a path toward safe and healthy futures for children. The New Jersey Childrenʼs Alliance is a statewide nonprofit membership organization whose mission is to promote hope, healing, and justice for child abuse victims by supporting Child Advocacy Centers across the state with training, resources, advocacy, and leadership. Student work to shine at TASOC
“From the Studio Classes…” Artworks by adult students will be on view May 19–June 15. The comprehensive exhibition features painting, drawing, sculpture, pottery, printmaking, photography, and more. The public is invited to a reception with the artists on Thursday, May 29, from 6 to 8 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The Art School at Old Church was founded in 1974 when visionary artists transformed a 19th-century church building into a community center for art and culture. Today, the school and Mikhail Zakin Gallery
serve more than 5,000 participants of all ages each year. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday
through Friday, and from 10 to 3 on Saturdays.
RIVER VALE
Pre-K T-Ball Registration
River Vale children who are entering kindergarten in the fall are eligible to take part in the townʼs spring 2025 T-ball program. The clinic runs Saturdays from 1 to 2 p.m May 10, 17, and 31; and June 7 and 14 (no session Memorial Day weekend) at Holdrum School field. The cost to participate is $60 per child. Registration is required and available online only via River Valeʼs Community Pass system through April 4. Want to enrich your childʼs experience? Become a coach!
