It requires a subtle act of alchemy, entering this monochrome world. Why it is, I don’t know, but the world in black and white is different from our everyday life saturated in color. We’re used to color, of course. So when we remove the hues, it’s as if everything SHIFTS ... and feels more refined, more elegant. Oddly enough, the world in monochrome feels perhaps MORE real. Yet when you are a photographer or photo artist, it’s a charmed realm. It’s magic.
