Meet the Team
Outdoor Pursuits Committee
The Outdoor Pursuits Department is supported by a student, staff and volunteer committee representing its wide ranging membership. Its core objectives are:
1. To promote and support the activities of PES.
2. To provide a forum where the activities of PES can be reviewed and discussed by parent representatives, school officers and volunteers running PES.
3. To provide a conduit for parental feedback on activities to the Head of
Outdoor Pursuits at the school and others involved in organising and running PES.
4. To take reports of activities and review planned activities.
5. To generate ideas and proposals for new activities to further the objectives and activities of PES.
6. To promote and participate in fundraising activities in conjunction with the school where these are required.
Should you wish to contact the committee to provide feedback, please contact reception. PETER EDWARDS
Volunteer/Committee Chairman
Pete has been helping at PES for about 20 years, since his son was a scout in the then 5th Cambridge Scout Group and he went part-time to Summer Camp as a parent helper. He later became an Assistant Scout Leader to a series of Scout Leaders. Since the 5th evolved into PES, he has continued as an Assistant Scout Leader with his local Scout Troop as well as helping at PES. He has been on most Winter and Summer Camps since then as well as overnight trips, two trips to Sweden and many field weekends. He particularly enjoys fire lighting and axe/knife skills, where his speciality is spoon carving.
