CAMILLE M. YURGILAS

KNOX, IN - Camille M. Yurgilas, 74, died Sunday, June 2, 2024, at her home. She was born July 5,1949, in East Chicago, Indiana, to the late Walter and Lillian Prusiecki.

She is survived by her husband, James, one son, Brian Yurgilas of Knox, three daughters: Jamie (Jason) Allen and Lindsay Yurgilas, both of Knox and Amy (Jessie) Sparks of Bremen, Indiana, nine grandchildren, one brother, Drew Prusiecki of Florida and one sister, Candy Schelske of South Carolina.

Private services will be held.

Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.

YVONNE GLORIA BUTLER

KNOX, IN - Yvonne Gloria Butler, 84, died Friday, May 3, 2024. She was born June 28, 1939, in Sacramento, California, to the late Edward and Blanche Bennet.

Yvonne was a fun, energetic and independent woman who loved traveling internationally, home remodeling, dancing, pinochle, jazz festivals, water skiing, people and Engelbert Humperdinck. She loved her family dearly. In her younger years she had a reupholstery business and later she was a successful Realtor.

She is survived by four children: Daniel Butler, Denice (Cliff) Runkle, Tami (Robert) Redding and Troy (David) Butler-Baker, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one sister, Gloria (Paul) TeagueSchmidt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Butler, her step dad, Lee Teague and granddaughter, Amber Butler.

A celebration of life is planned for June 29 at Granite Bay/Folsom Lake, California. In lieu of flowers, plant a tree in her memory or a donation to the charity of your choice.

Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.

GERALD L. MEYERS

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Gerald L. Meyers, 72, died Monday, May 27, 2024. He was born July 1, 1951 in La Porte, Indiana, to the late Marion and Jeanette Meyers.

Gerald was a veteran of the US Marine Corps. He had worked many years for the State Highway Department. He loved gardening and was an excellent mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, one son, Jerry (Mariela) Meyers of Missouri, three grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother, Jeff Meyers of Michigan City, Indiana and three sisters: Jenny Lindstrom of Plymouth, Indiana, Linda Badell of Knox, Indiana and Marian Frances Peck of Valparaiso, Indiana. He was preceded in death by one son, Marcus Meyers and one brother, Bill Meyers.

Arrangements were made by M.C. Smith Funeral Home in Knox.

CARL A. DePOY

BROOKSVILLE, FL & HOLLAND, MI

- Carl A. DePoy, 93, died Thursday, May 30, 2024 at the Northbrook Center for Rehabilitation and Healing in Brooksville, Florida. He was born January 11, 1931, in Star City, Indiana, to the late John W. and Helen E. (Williams) DePoy.

Carl was a graduate of Star City High School and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War. He was retired from Clark Equipment Co. in Buchanan, Michigan, where he worked as a purchaser.

He is survived by his children: John Stowell, Rebecca Luevano and Donald Stowell, six grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one sister, JoAnn Wilson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna (Mathie) DePoy Stowell Fryatt, his second wife, Ellyn L. (Geidena) DePoy, one granddaughter, Amanda (Luevano) Cronk and siblings: Robert E. DePoy, Vivian L. Henry, Richard N. DePoy, Alma J. Harper and Betty L. Olson.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, June 12, at Frain Mortuary, with Donald Stowell officiating. Private entombment will take place at the Star City West Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Star City West Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac, Indiana.

LOIS McKINLEY

SOUTH BEND, IN - FORMERLY OF WINAMAC, IN - Lois McKinley, 89, died Wednesday, June 5,2024, at the Center for Hospice Care-Ernestine Raclin House in Mishawaka, Indiana. She was born December 11, 1934, in Winamac, Indiana, to the late Lon and Flo (Lebo) McKinley.

Lois was a 1952 graduate of Winamac High School. She attended St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Lafayette, Indiana. While living in Winamac she served as Worthy Advisor for the Rainbow Girls and was a 50 year member of the Tippecanoe Chapter #96 OES. She had worked in the security department at the former Robertson’s Department Store and then became a real estate agent. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a member of the Relief Society. She loved coming to Winamac in August for the McKinley Cousins Reunion. Her grandkids and great grandkids brightened her days.

She is survived by three daughters: Lorna (Smed) Miller of Winamac, Lee Hoover of Arden, Delaware and Carol (Ricky, Sr.) Kline of Mishawaka, three sons: Allen (Cindy Cox) Hoover of Dayton, Minnesota and Andy and Ron Hoover, both of South Bend, ten grandkids, three step grandkids and seventeen great grandkids. She was preceded in death by one sister, Helen White and three brothers: William “Billy”, Charles “Charlie” and Richard “Dick” McKinley.

Visitation will be from 11am-1pm EDT, Friday, June 14 at Frain Mortuary with services starting at 1pm. Burial will be in the Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition). Memorial donations may be made to Center for Hospice Care.

Arrangements were made by Frain Mortuary in Winamac.

HASKELL COLLINS

NORTH JUDSON, IN - Haskell Collins, 100, died Saturday, June 8, 2024 in North Judson, Indiana. He was born February 2, 1924, in Carver, Kentucky, to the late Lee and Dollie (Bailey) Collins. On November 2, 1941, he married Marie Minix. She died on June 30, 1989. On July 20, 2002, he married Patricia Howard.

Haskell was a WWII veteran and a member of the North Judson American Legion, Knox VFW and the local carpenter’s union. He had worked as a carpenter. Haskell enjoyed gardening, playing cards and spending time with his family, friends and his dog.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia, three sons: Lon (Vonda) Collins, John Collins and David (Carrie) Collins, all of North Judson and two daughters: Connie Salyer of North Judson and Olivia (Dan) Shirley of South Bend, Indiana, fourteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren, thirty great great grandchildren, one brother, Hank Collins of Dutton, Alabama and two sisters: Justine Salyer of Knox, Indiana and Josephine Born of North Judson. He was preceded in death by two sons: Garland and James “Pete” Collins and two daughters: Gayetta and Viola Collins, one grandson, Kenny Collins, two great granddaughters: Stephanie and Catherine Minix and siblings: Harliss and Hetzel Collins, Mageline Thews, Velva Jean Risner and Katherine Mann.

Friends will be received from 4-8pm, Wednesday, June 12, at Braman & Bailey Funeral Home with services at 11am on Thursday, June 13 at the funeral home, with Rev. Paul Newcomer officiating. Burial will be in the Round Lake Cemetery in Knox. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice. Arrangements were made by Braman & Bailey Funeral Home in North Judson.

DENNIS J. FORSHEE

NYONA LAKE, IN - Dennis J. Forshee, 60, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at his home. He was born November 4, 1963, in Peru,

Indiana, to the late Ernest and Hazel (Radtke) Forshee.

Dennis graduated from Peru High School and Ivy Tech College. He worked most of his life at Fulton Industries.

He is survived by one sister, Beverly Carriger and one brother, Garry (Juanita) Norem.

No services will be held at this time.
