Jodi Spataro accepted a Middlebubury Chamber of Commerce Legacy Membership Plaque to Community Foundation of Elkhart County. Legacy members are committed businesses and organizations that take a leadership role in our efforts to accelerate business growth and prosperity in the community. With this higher level membership, legacy members receive additional benefits and recognition beyond standard membership, as well as place themselves with leading decision makers.
Mike Ganger was the recipient of the Middlebury Chamber of Commerce award for Volunteer of the Year.
Joanna King presented Bob and Sue Miller with a special award from the Indiana General Assembly for the fine work in establishing the Das Dutchman Essenhaus complex, featuring one of the top restaurants in the state of Indiana, a popular tourist stopover as well.

2021 Business Beautification Award Winners
Esther’s Hilltop Restaurant.
Hilltop Restaurant has been a community icon for many years, first located on US 20 and the new beautiful location on Wayne Street near the downtown area.


Joyfully Said.Joyfully Said had to weather the pandemic like most small businesses and had to close their doors. But they have re-opened and have purchased the Old Wanberg Popcorn Plant on Warren Street and are continuing renovation plans both inside and out.
Wedgewood Brewing Company.
Wedgewood Brewing Company expanded to include a beautiful restaurant highlighting local and quality foods to create a diverse and fresh menu to go along with its audio-infused brew.


West on Warren.West on Warren was purchased and originally refurbed in October 2016, opening in May of 2017 for business. During the pandemic, it became clear the importance of the outdoor area was to the business and to the community and it is now a more open, higher capacity space usable year round.
General Store of Middlebury.The store was created to bring back memories of “the good old days”. The new entrance is very inviting and a great new addition to our downtown area. Owner is Myron Yoder. Photo unavailable.
