A caller at 1302 Donaldson Ave, Peru reported that an individual that has a protective order against her has called law en forcement to on her
and is communicat ing with other peo ple about her. Caller had petitioned for a protective order, but it was denied.
Caller requested a record be made re garding the inci dents and was to send supporting documents regard ing the other party’s actions.
Threats were re ported at 1603 N St. Rd. 19, Correll’s Mo bile Home Park, Lot 7, Peru. Officers called the com plainant but re ceived no answer.

A caller at 13783 S 400 W, Kokomo asked for assistance in retrieving per sonal property from her stepmother’s house. Officers con tacted the step
mother via phone call. She stated the caller could contact her by phone to arrange a date and location to receive her property. The stepmother also re quested the caller be issued a trespass warning for her ad dress. Officers con tacted the caller and informed her to contact the step mother to arrange the return of the property. Officers then issued a tres pass warning to her for the mother’s property.

Esther Ruth Sailors, 87 of Peru went to be with her Lord and Sav ior Nov. 21, 2022, at home surrounded by the love and support of her children.
She was born in Kokomo, Indiana, Aug. 29, 1935, to Louis McLay and Ruth Busby Clark. Both parents preceded her in death.
Esther enjoyed em broidery, crocheting, and indoor gardening. She was especially proud of her holiday cactus plant collection. She surprised us all by her technological abili ties over the last twenty years and be came an avid Facebook user.
Esther is survived by one brother, Glenn (Rose) McLay of Russi aville, and one sister, Linda (Bob Loughery) Thomas of Englewood, Florida. Her children: Roberta (Delon) Rum felt of Marion, Susan Wilburn, Beth Enyart,
Linda Arlene (Wolf, Stout) Beheler, 75, of Amboy passed away at 12:50 p.m., Friday, Nov. 18, 2022, at her resi dence. She was born in Miami County, Indi ana, June 7, 1947, the daughter of Paul and Reverdia Cline Wolf.
Linda married Richard Beheler Dec. 7, 1986, and he survives.
Linda was a 1965 graduate of Ma conaquah High School and attended Ivy Tech. She worked for Chrysler and was a professional photogra pher. Linda enjoyed gardening, canning, photography and col lecting, especially dolls. She liked spend ing her time bargain hunting and visiting garage sales. Family was very important to Linda. She was a de voted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family un conditionally.

nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by her hus band, Harold Adams, brother, John McLay; sister, Martha Greer; children: Janet McN abb and Greg Enyart: grandchildren: Tammy Sue Rigle, Eric Burton, Billy Rader, Christo pher Miller and one great grandchild: Brandon Ritter.

Darrell Delano Wright, 84, of Denver, passed away peacefully Nov. 24, 2022, sur rounded by loved ones.
He was born in Mid dletown, Ohio, but spent most of his early life in Powell County, Kentucky with his par ents (Robert Henry Wright and Minnie Lou Wright (Spencer)) and 12 siblings.
Although he spent most of his adult life in Indiana, Kentucky always held a special place in his heart. Dar rell was a proud Ma rine for 21 years and served in Vietnam and Dessert Storm. He spent his professional life as a machinist at Ebert’s in Peru where they basically had to force him to retire. He enjoyed “tinkering around” in the garage, projects, and most im portantly-spending time with the ones he loved. A fun, caring, goofy, go getter of a man that never failed to put a smile on every one’s face.
What he was most proud of was his fam ily. He is survived by his children: Darrell Dwayne (Mary) Wright of Denver, Becky (Eric) McIntire of Rochester, and Richard Wright of Berne, as well as his 11 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, all 12 siblings, daugh ter Betty Lou Bragg, and wife of 56 years Linda Lou Wright (Sparks).
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a funeral service following at 3 p.m. Wednesday Nov. 30, 2022, at FlowersLeedy Funeral Home, 105 W. Third Street, Peru, Indiana.

David Edward Mur phy, 73, formerly of Denver, passed away 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, at LifeCare Center of Rochester.
Born March 19, 1949, in Peru, Indiana, he was the son of Lyman E. “Bud” and Marcella M. (Hartish) Murphy.
David was a 1968 graduate of North Miami High School. He had lived at Peak Com munity Services in Lo gansport since the death of his mother and before moving to Rochester. He was an AVID North Miami
sports fan and cheered on his alma mater at every chance he could attend. He also enjoyed other sports, especially Notre Dame and Colts football.
Survivors include his sister, June R. Brown, Mexico; three nieces, Amy (Jeff) Davenport, Denver; Stacey (Calvin)
Boomhower, Rochester; and Melissa (Tony) Newman, Fishers; and several great and greatgreat nieces and nephews, and several cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held at 12:30 p.m. Mon day, Nov. 28, 2022, at Mc Clain Funeral Home, with his cousins offici ating. Burial followed in Chili Community Cemetery, Chili.
Visitation was one hour prior to the serv ice.

Henry Douglas Ware, Jr., 64, of Peru passed away at 5:16 p.m., Satur day, Nov. 19, 2022, at Dukes Memorial Hospital. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, Sept. 30, 1958, the son Henry and Mary Dabney Ware.
Henry was a de voted father and grandfather and al
ways made every one he came in con tact with feel extra special. He showed
us how to live life beautifully, truth fully, and with faith filled simplicity. Henry thoroughly enjoyed roller and ice skating, fishing, and bike riding. He was a community person and enjoyed visiting with peo ple. Henry was also a skilled guitarist and loved to enter tain family and
friends with his music.
Surviving are daughters Jacquita Goodwin and Ten isha Goodwin; a son Jamal Good win; grandchildren Elijah Davis, Char ity Davis, Trinity Davis, Gabriel Goodwin, James Jones, Germaine Holt, Jr., Kevion Goodwin-Jones,
Domonique Good win, DeCarlos New some, Cherish Cooper, Jamal Goodwin II, Joshua Goodwin-King and Kaywan King; and siblings Thressia Ware, Andre Ware, Darnell Ware and Rita Ware.

Daniel Dean Day, 58, Mexico, went home to be with his Lord Thursday, Nov. 17, 2022, at Hickory Creek of Peru.
Born March 5, 1964, in Peru, Indi ana, he was the son of Myron “Bud” Dean and Barbara Lee (Crume) Day. On Aug. 8, 2008, he was married to the former Donna Rae Barker.
Dan graduated from North Miami High School in 1982 and received his de gree in Photojour nalism from Ball State University in 1986. He was a member of Zion Chapel Church in
Leola Willis, 93, formerly of Macy, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2022, at Golden LivingSycamore Village, Kokomo, Indiana.
Born March 7, 1929, in Pike County, Kentucky, she was the daugh ter of King Solomon Tackett and Stanley B. (Townsend) Tack ett. She was mar ried to Trulen Ray Willis, and he pre ceded her in death.
She attended Ful
model train enthu siast and member of the CIY train club in Kokomo. Before opening his own business, Day’s Sweets in Mexico and Peru, he worked in con struction and in stalled garage doors for both Hurst’s and Don’s. He was an avid sports fan, coach ing softball for
many years and was currently a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Chicago Cubs. He loved fly ing stunt kites and spending time with his family, espe cially his kids and grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Day, Mexico; chil dren, Katie L. (Brandon) Hutchi son, Lapel; Sara M. Day (Ryan Hepfer), Lapel; and Jamie A. (Collin) Loughman, Lapel; Mandy M. Kriegel (Ricky Brown), Bluffton; Jamey E. (Kyle) Clark, Evansville; and Nathan F.C. Ralston (Jacqueline Smith), Allentown,
PA; twelve grand children; mother, Barbara Day, Chili; brother, Donald L. (Jami) Day, Peru; grandmother, Rosie R. Day, Rochester; brother-in-law, Eric (Deborah) Sad dlemire, Florida; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his fa ther; one sister, Ann Saddlemire; and his beloved dog, Daisy.

Correll officiating. A private family burial was held Tuesday at Green lawn Cemetery, Mexico.
Visitation was from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the church, prior to the service.

11-20-22 - The Lady Braves dropped a tough TRC battle with the Lady Zebras 29-34. The Braves held a 4-point lead going into the 4th quarter but some timely 3point shots from Rochester and one coming around the
1:04 minute mark put Rochester up 30-29. Rochester then went 4-4 from the free-throw line to close the game out.

11-21-22 - The JV Peru Lady Tigers played at Rochester. Due to Rochester’s low numbers, we played half a game, 2 quar ters. The Lady Tigers won the first, but shots didn’t fall in the second quarter. We lost by 4. These young ladies never quit and play from start to finish. Proud of their efforts. Scoring for the Tigers was Sydney Az bell with 4 and Peyton Wide man had 2. The JV Lady Tigers get a week break and then get a full game Dec. 3 against Kokomo.

not find a cru cial basket in the 4th quarter after cutting the lead to 45-42 and had to foul down the stretch to put the game out of reach 5145. Leading the Tigers offen sively was Bri anna Bennett with 16 points, 3 rebounds, 7 as sists and 3 steals. Other contributing Tigers were Emma Eldridge with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 as sists, 1 steal and 1 block. Addison Robbins with 10 points, 2 re bounds, 1 assist, 1 block, and 1 steal. Emily Ream with 3 points, 1 block, and 1 steal.
