A WOMAN first exposed by the Olive Press is accused of slaughtering more than 2,100 cats and dogs at a Costa Del Sol animal shelter. Carmen Marin’s animal shelter in Torremolinos was meant to be a haven for unwanted pets. But a court has heard that between 2008 and 2010 Marin and assistant Felipe Barco injected the animals with drugs that caused a slow, agonising death. In 2012, the Olive Press first revealed a police probe into Marin, as well as a close relationship between her and Torremolinos Town Hall. Court documents showed she made a series of unexplained payments totalling over €50,000 to ex-mayor Pedro Fernandez Montes’ brother.

THE mother of missing Amy Fitzpatrick has slammed ‘sick’ people using images of her daughter for fake Facebook profiles. Audrey Fitzpatrick said she is ‘disgusted’ over profiles impersonating her daughter and herself.
The profiles for a ‘Chloe Ville Anckarstrom’ and ‘Kelly Harrison’ include pictures of Amy, who went missing at the age of 15, in La Cala, in 2008. Facebook is currently investigating after Audrey submitted a formal complaint.
“I'm disgusted how people can do this,” she said. “I am here to defend myself but Amy is not. And for someone to use Amy's face as their own makes my blood boil.” Audrey’s partner Dave Mahon is currently in jail for the killing Amy’s brother.
Lawyers target ‘black’ economy MORE than 50 international lawyers are demanding the creation of an International Anti-Corruption Court. The group from 25 countries, led by top Spanish lawyer Javier Cremades, want the court to deal with global money laundering and terrorist financing. “We have a problem of political governance. The law creates artificial barriers that harms consumers and that complicates national and international lawsuits,” said Cremades. Since 2007, the percentage of Spain’s GDP run by the black market is estimated to have grown from 11.2% to up to 22%.
