Kloß adventures

How everything started Once upon the time, when people and dumplings were still living peacefully together, the world was a happy place. Everybody was friendly and when people saw a dumpling they cuddled it because they liked the feeling of touching fluffy fur. The dumplings were happy too and, rolled around and jumped up and down. But sadly enough, humans did not appreciate that friendship for long and were just interested in eating the dumplings. That's why the dumplings decided to leave. When the dumplings heard that children did no longer know about them and really missed them they decided to come back.

In their first night back the dumplings gathered around a campfire and told stories about their adventures. In this book you can read about those adventures.

hole, a cave. And what a surprise! There were more dumplings. Kloß relatives who had left home too.

Slowly it got darker and darker, because it was already evening. So he looked for a place to sleep. Suddenly he found a little hole and rolled inside. He was frightened of the darkness inside, but he rolled straight on.

They were having a big party, a costume party. All the costumes were exciting and Claus was totally amazed when he learned how they had got such amazing clothes.

Deeper in the hole there was a little light. For Klaus that was a bit strange, but he still rolled on. A few seconds later he found a room in the

The chosen one This is the adventure of a dumpling who was hiding in a little village close to the arctic circle. One morning after getting up, Kloß rolled into his kitchen, ate a biscuit and had some Christmas tea. He rolled into the bathroom and looked into the mirror. What was that?! He was scared about the long white beard he had got over night. Was he Santa Claus now? Kloß rolled out off his village and went to an old wise man who had helped him before.

“What does this white beard mean?” The wise man answered,”You are the new Santa. The previous Santa Kloß was eaten by a mean child. You are the chosen one, the new Santa Kloß.” (by German team)

The superhero As Kloß heard that people wanted to eat her and her friends, she planned their escape to another country. So they built boats and sailed on the water until they saw land. There they found another group of dumplings. That group had a huge secret, which they shared with Kloß: They had discovered how to make dumplings out of potatoes that totally looked like Kloß. Kloß was so happy. That was the solution to all her problems. That could rescue her friends.

She sailed back home and taught the people how to make dumplings of potatoes so that they did no longer have to eat Kloß friends and relatives. From that day on she was the heroine of the Kloß community. (by German team)

Kloß and the nun During his travels little cute Kloß came to a big building. It looked like a perfect place hiding spot. But what Kloß didn’t know was that it was .... a restaurant. And he didn’t notice that behind him was a big chef. The cook took Kloß into a pan, and Kloß started screaming and shouting for help, but the cook didn’t care about him. Kloß got thrown on a table with some women dressed in black. They seemed to be spiritual. ‘These are nuns,’ Kloß thought. He had seen

Photos in books but never seen any in real life. The nuns were talking to each other. One of them saw the face of Kloß and how much he feared being there. “Don’t worry. We will help you. We always help people in need. Why shouldn’t we help a dumpling?” the nun said. “Come closer.” When Kloß rolled over to her she grabbed him with her hands. Kloß was shivering with fear, but the nun smiled at him, put him into her bag and carried him to a safe place. (by German team)

Learning new languages Dumplings are known for liking a good bath. One day Kloß climbed into the warm water and enjoyed lying on the bottom of the pot. Suddenly he felt that it got really hot and he swam to the surface. He was grabbed and put onto a plate with meat and gravy. Had his last day come yet? Kloß got really scared and jumped off the table. He rolled for almost five days, always straight on. When he came into an unknown town, he went to a restaurant to find some starch as

he was really hungry. But he couldn’t get anything because nobody spoke his language. Suddenly a woman said with a French accent, “Excuse me. Can I help you? Where are you from?” Kloß was so happy that he could get something to eat now and that the women was interested in his story.” They became friends and she taught Kloß some words in his language. He enjoyed that so much that he decided to roll on and learn more languages. (by German team)

In greece, another dumpling got onto plane. The dumpling said that he found a recipe. Kloß taught him to make rice dumplings. They discussed about gurus, dragons and greek gods. But when they were over Germany, the plane crashed in a mountain in the Alps.

Smartlings One day some dumplings realized that they had become dumb on their journey. So they decided to go to school to become the smartest dumplings on earth. Luckily there was a school near their hiding spot. As they came in the other students were wondering a lot about them, but Kloß taught them to treat the dumplings like humans. The first lesson was History. All students had to work about dumpling history, so the dumplings knew more than all the others.

Everyone was so proud of the dumplings that they wanted them to stay longer. The next lesson was Art. Kloß had to draw delicious food, so he drew dumplings made out of potatoes. The other students and teachers were very interested in his art and wanted to know what that was. So Kloß explained it to them. And so the dumplings were saved and also very smart again. From now on they were called “Smartlings.” By German Team

An adventurous dumpling One day I was on a hill in Scotland. I rolled down the hill and landed in a field. There were 10 sheep. My favourite sheep was Albert. I played with him every day. I was in Scotland for two weeks. I think Scotland is cool because there are very interesting things to do. I lived in an old stone house (with a butterfly). I met lots of salmon farmers and helped a farmer with his job. After the two weeks I rolled onto a ferry to London. In London, I was on the London Eye, I saw lots of sights. After the London Eye I was at Buckingham Palace. I saw the Queen and talked to her.

On the next day I was in Hyde Park and Brick Lane. I bought myself a nice new cap. In the evening I went back to my B&B. I saw mummies and dinosaurs in the National History Museum the day after. I was in London for four days. After London I was in Italy and ate pizza. Then I went to Germany to my other friends and family. And now we are here, sitting around the campfire... By German Team

Tokyo Drift We came to Japan and walked a long way to Tokyo. As we were in front of the big city we were standing next to a highway. Suddenly many cars drove very fast, and in the curve of the highway they were sliding. Amazing! I and all the other dumplings wanted to learn that cool trick. So we ran into the city and climbed on top of a huge tower. That’s why we could see where the driver’s home was.

We made friends with the drivers really fast and they explained to us how they were sliding with their cars. Then I had an idea: We dumplings should stay in front of the wheels during the next ride. In the curve we climbed under the wheels and the cars were sliding as well as never again. Well, it was close because a driver called Jim almost crashed into the wall of a department store.

On the roof we found some parachutes. After a few seconds we were gliding down to the house we had searched for. The ground was shaking when the drivers were drifting. Actually we didn’t want to drive with them, but, of course, Janne did some noisy things. So the drivers saw us behind the corner and one of them pointed at us. First we ran away, although we didn’t really know why, but after some time we came back.

We were the best team and won almost every race. When we left the drivers we developed a car with a new technology. We named the car “Kloßo Elemento”, it’s the best car in the world. It’s really the best. It’s unique. After doing this little job we finally left the big city, and now we are here at the camp-fire. By German team

A dumpling in love When I woke up I heard that they wanted to eat me, and I rolled away. I rolled and rolled until I came to a forest. I heard a noise that frightened me. There was something behind me. I could feel it. Suddenly it touched me and I thought,”I am too young to die!” I turned my head and saw a wolf. It bit at me, but I was too fast to him. I rolled on, to an old friend, where I was safe. I moved in there and we fell in love. We were together for two years and got married. After a few years I found she didn’t love me. I was so sad and started crying. I didn’t want to leave her because I loved her very much, but we only and hurt each other.

That went on for a long time, until I decided to leave. I thought I was feeling better with that, but everything got worse. She found a new partner who makes her happier… I learned to live without my dumpling wife. It was not easy to be happy; I tried it so much. After an eternally long time, I became happy again. I found great friends who were there for me and helped me. Suddenly everything was as it used to be. And now, we are even here, back together. By German Team

Sweet Kloß Year! In Greece, Kloß goes to celebrate New Year’s Day with Greek children. He learns that Aghios Vassilis (Santa Claus) brings presents to kids that day and he waits for his present. Kloß on Summer Holidays Kloß goes on holidays to Athens in Greece. There he visits the archaeological museum and watches on a virtual tour Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom, and Poseidon, the God of the Sea, to fight over who will give the name to the city. In the end, Athena won the fight and the city was named “Athina” (Athens) after her. Next, Kloß visits the Parthenon, after that, goes to a cinema and finally, to a hotel to sleep. The next day, he goes to the island of Zakynthos (Zante) by a sailing boat. There he swims with the turtles Caretta-caretta. Then, suddenly, he sees a shark, gets scared and swims quickly back to the beach but fortunately, the shark is just a plastic shark, a pool float!

Meeting friends After all the stories Kloß stepped closer to the fire and said, “I rolled through many countries and met so many different kinds of dumplings: bread, semolina, potato, rice, with herbs or without, with filling or without, sweet or spicy, whatever you can imagine. They were not exactly like me, but everyone was ready to help me. And they live together peacefully. I also met some nice children who showed me their favourite places. And now I heard of so many more good places. Everyone should

get to know them. What do you think of making a book about our friends?” An old dumpling with a French beret on his head suggested that young dumplings should go and visit the dumplings’ friends all over Europe. Kloß was chosen to start the tour and report on his trip in a diary.
