WELCOME TO PARTICIPANTS CLAUDIO GLAENTZER - Italian Ambassador to Greece. I offer my congratulations to the Italo-Hellenic Cultural Association “Friends of Leros” and the Leros Yacht Club on its efforts concerning this interesting event, a symbol of friendship between Italy and Greece. I wish every success to all participants in the race. Last year's race was widely embraced and I hope that this edition will receive even more participations. Confirming the Embassy's support of the event, I take the opportunity to send you my best wishes. Claudio Glaentzer Italian Ambassador in Athens GIORGHIOS NIKITIADIS - Greek Minister of Culture and Tourism In this difficult period, sport events such as the Italo-Hellenic Friendship Race, coorganized by the Association “Friends of Leros” and the Leros Yacht Club, fill us with optimism, joy and hope. As Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism but also as a Dodecanesian, I welcome all yachtsmen and visitors from Greece and abroad and wish the organization good luck. My congratulations to the Italo-Hellenic Association AIAL and the Nautical Club of Leros for their second year of co-organizing the event. Giorghios Nikitiadis Minister of Culture and Tourism of Greece GIANNIS MACHERIDIS - Regional Governor of South Aegean. When an athletic activity, naturally identified with entertainment and adventure at sea, also features a strong symbolic character, the outcome is very positive. This is the special character of the Italo-Hellenic Friendship Race that operates essentially as a conjunction for the rapprochement and friendship of the peoples of the region. I whole heartedly wish godspeed to the organization of the event and congratulate the Leros Yacht Club and the Association “Friends of Leros”- AIAL that took this initiative. Giannis Macheridis Regional Governor of South Aegean

MICHALIS KOLIAS - Mayor of Leros. Dear yachtsmen, we welcome you to the Island of Leros for the 2nd Italo-Hellenic Friendship Sailing Race. It is an honor and a pleasure for us to host such a great event, that transcends the concept of a simple sports manifestation and can contribute highly to the promotion of a new, modern identity of our island. We wish the organizers and all the participants “good luck” and to reach all the goals they have set. Michalis Kolias Mayor of Leros
