Dear special guests, Welcome to Notre Dame Schools’ 8th Annual Auction/Dinner/Dance – “Bid Your Heart Out”. Our hard working committee has planned a special evening for you that includes wine tasting, appetizers, silent auction, Chinese raffles, raffles, a live, Grand Auction and dancing. Thank you so very much to all those who helped make this special event possible. We continue to be humbled and amazed by the support we receive from the community, local businesses and the Notre Dame family as we plan this event. This auction would simply not be possible without the generous support of our donors. Our auction committee spends long hours working very hard to make this event an exciting evening for you, our guests. They continue to encourage and inspire me. RULES AND PROCEDURES Silent Auction All items on the Silent Auction Tables have bid sheets. Persons desiring to bid must do so by printing their book number and the amount of the bid on the bid sheet. Each increase in bid amount must equal at least the minimum raise ($5) stated on the bid sheet to be considered as a final winning bid. Silent Auction bidding tables will begin closing at 20 minutes after Live Grand Ends. Please see schedule for auction closings. All Silent Auction bid sheets and Live Auction sheets will be compiled together by book number at the checkout. (Please do not remove bid sheets from the Auction tables) Winners should proceed to the checkout table after the winners are announced for their items and to receive a paid receipt. Please do not pick up the item until you have a paid receipt to show to the monitor. Winning bids must be paid in full. Visa, MasterCard, check or cash will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to Notre Dame Development. All sales are FINAL. No exchanges or refunds. Grand Auction 1.Customary rules of auction apply. 2.Raise your paddle authorize your bid. 3.The calls and rulings of the auctioneer are final and conclusive.
Tax Considerations Tickets: The cost of the ticket for our Gala is not tax deductible due to the fact that the ticket price is equal to the value received in return (dinner and entertainment costs). Raffle Tickets: The cost of a raffle ticket is not deductible as a charitable contribution, but can be used to offset gains associated with raffle, bingo or other chance game winnings. Auction Items: The amount paid for any auction item is deductible as a charitable contribution only to the extent that the purchase price exceeds the value of the property received in exchange. Value to be established by a good-faith estimate. A patron who purchases any item where the amount paid is less than $250.00 or where the purchase price, minus the value of the item is $250.00 or less, does not require any written acknowledgement in order to take a charitable contribution deduction. For such items, Notre Dame Schools will issue no letter of acknowledgement. A patron who purchases any single item where the amount paid exceeds the value of the item by more than $250.00 will receive an acknowledgement from Notre Dame Schools in a format compatible with IRS guidelines. The acknowledgement will include the consideration received along with a description of the item purchased and its estimated value.
