Lashunda Lee, Army, first heard of PGA HOPE when she saw Trevor Hazen, PGA in an interview on television. She attended PGA HOPE at The Turn in North Olmsted using a set of clubs that a neighbor gave her. And now she's a fullfledged golfer with her own set of golf clubs.
PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) is the flagship military program of the Northern Ohio PGA Section Foundation. PGA HOPE introduces golf to Veterans to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being. The Turn's PGA HOPE program is run by 2022 Northern Ohio PGA Patriot Award winner, Trevor Hazen, and Foundation Committee member, Erin Craig.
Trevor is "grateful to have had the opportunity to introduce the game to Lee. She was a true beginner who got hooked on week one and got more excited about the game each session. Through our PGA HOPE program she now has the skills and knowledge to play on-course. That training, along with her brand new clubs from the NOPGA Foundation, makes me confident that we will see Lee on the golf course in 2023 and beyond.”
