An exciting season for Vegreville Initiation hockey

Cherie Ziegler Submitted This Year 28 between the ages of 4 and 7 registered and participated in the Vegreville and District Minor Hockey Association Initiation level program. Some of the highlights of the season were trail blazing initiatives, Tuesday and Saturday practices, our home and away games, a Large One day tournament, and community fundraising efforts. After several early season practices in October and November, the kids were divided into 2 relatively equally skilled teams. With Hockey Alberta passing on some new early development initiatives, VDMHA were trail blazers and adopted the half ice initiative. New boards were purchased to divide the large ice surface into 2 smaller ice surfaces. This allowed both teams to practice and both teams to play games at the same time.
