Homemade products, vegetables, baked goods, and home cooked foods were just some of the items that adorned the tables of 11 vendors at the Vegreville Agricultural Society’s first weekly Pysanka Market for the 2021 season at the Vegreville Elks/Kinsmen Park on June 17. Lavoy Hutterite Colony had a booth where they were selling pies, bread, and vegetables. Norie’s Fine Foods from Ryley was selling canned goods, perogies, egg noodle BBQ chicken, and more that she made herself. Terry Semeniuk and his daughter Shawna Semeniuk were selling handmade tin and wooden flowers crafted from salvaged materials. Shawna also sews dog collars, masks, children’s clothing, and much more. Bev McCarty, vendor for Prairie Pride Farm, was selling homemade jam, honey, all natural lotion bars, and all natural bug repellent. She said she makes these prod-
ucts as a hobby and that she has been doing this for around three years. Davin Gegolick, vendor for Black Stripe Coffee, said he uses green beans from around the world and roasts them in his basement to make this coffee. Blading for Bees also held a spot at the market where Zachariah Choboter, founder and team lead, along with Executive Director Rachel Choboter, offered attendees information and insights into the importance of bees and get them excited about the environment.
