A drive-by parade was held in the Village of Chipman on December 24 to bid farewell to Postmaster Carol Stribling.

“Due to the COVID restrictions, we couldn’t hold a retirement party so her good friend Lana Zips organized a drive-by parade. It was led by the Chipman Fire District truck playing Christmas music over the P.A. and well over 50 vehicles sounding their horns and some holding up posters or handing her cards wishing her well. The community can’t thank her enough for everything she’s done,” said participant Scott Reid.

“She has been a huge influence on this small community and will be sadly missed. She has been part of all the volunteer organizations in the area at one time or another and has helped each group out tremendously,” added Reid.
He said Carol has been the Postmaster at the post office for the last 21 years. Her retirement officially began at 4 pm on Christmas Eve.

The procession of vehicles lined up on main street to bid Carol farewell.
