John Evers-Hillstrom Karl • Features • With one semester left at SUNY New Paltz, Karl is looking to make The New Paltz Oracle great again. He’s been training in the hyperbolic time chamber for years and is now stronger than ever before. He wants to be the very best that no one ever was, and many would agree he already is. Handsome, smart, funny and incredibly humble, Karl has already won Oscars for his unparalleled work in the field of journalism. He even beat out Peter Dinklage for an Emmy Award last year. That’s gotta be an upset. Everyone loves that guy.

Melanie Zerah is the News Editor of The New Paltz Oracle. With this experience behind her, running for the President of the United States is sort of a downgrade. But anyway, her policies are immaculate and she plans on using all campaign donations to buy awesome jackets for every man, woman and child who are working middle class Oracle writers! So vote for Melanie, because if you don’t, you might just be too square for the states.

John Russell Hartman

John Melissa

A senior in his last semester here at SUNY New Paltz, Russell will go down as one of the coolest people to ever set foot in the Oracle office. This semester he’ll be interning at Hudson Valley News Network where he hopes to gain an even further understanding of the journalism field. If you see him on campus don’t be afraid to tell him his sports column on the Rangers is the best thing you’ve ever read in your entire life. When he’s not in the Oracle office he can be found chillin’ with his boys or with his awesome girlfriend. Have a great semester everyone!

Kramer

• Sports •

Melissa Kramer is a third-year student majoring in journalism and minoring in communication studies. This is her fifth semester as a member of The New Paltz Oracle staff. When she is not writing, she is listening to music and DJ-ing. Her favorite bands include The Black Keys, The Growlers and Tame Impala. The New York Islanders are her favorite sports team and she enjoys playing hockey as well. In addition, she considers herself a Russo’s Deli enthusiast, who will always order a #3. She is extremely grateful for the incredible friends she has made while working for The Oracle and looks forward to what the spring has in store.

Jackie Quaranto

Jackie Quaranto is a third-year English major. This will be her fourth semester working as the Web Chief for The Oracle. Outside of The Oracle, Jackie is kept very busy as she is the co-president of Dumbledore’s Army of New Paltz, secretary and head referee of New Paltz Quidditch and the secretary of the Scudder Hall Government. Some of Jackie’s favorite things include books, florals, red pandas, chocolate and dresses.

Holly Lipka

Holly is a third-year journalism major with an art studio minor. This is her third semester as the news and sports photo editor at The New Paltz Oracle. Since middle school, she has always had a passion for photographing beauty in the world that often goes unseen. When not on an assignment, you can find Holly blending inventive green smoothies in her NutriBullet, walking along the rail trail, or getting addicted to another television show on Netflix. Holly plans on contributing articles for The Oracle this semester as well as exploring different forms of multimedia, such as radio, to expand her journalism work.

Stefanie is a fourth-year student studying painting and drawing. Anxiously awaiting her graduation, she plans to spend her final semester creating awesome artwork for her thesis show and hopes you will all come to see the finished product. In her free time, Stefanie enjoys searching for new music and making mix CDs. It’s a simple life, but someone has to do it. What few people know is that she also works as a part-time clown for an entertainment company on Long Island. She’s not scary though, she promises. Feel free to say hi if you see her around campus!

John

David is a fourth-year photography major and journalism minor. In his free time he enjoys Glass Animals and nice scotch, but isn’t picky. He likes to play guitar, loves long walks on the beach and getting caught in the rain. Passionate about weightlifting, running and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, David can most likely be found in the gym or at Old Library, his home away from home doing photography things.
