PUBLISHER’S NOTE
So Much Gratitude
WWell, another summer has come to a close. I love summer here at the coast, but I have to admit that being able to walk from my front door to my car without sweating makes me a happy camper. It was a busy summer season here in southeastern North Carolina, by which I mean we had a ton of visitors. Who can blame people from all over the country for wanting to spend a piece of their summer on Topsail Island? The beautiful beaches, charming communities, friendly people, amazing restaurants and shops, great fishing, boating and watersports – it all adds up to a world-class vacation destination. Hopefully all of this summer tourism was lucrative and full of positivity for the Topsail-area businesses. Speaking of the local business community, we here at Topsail Magazine are grateful every day for the longtime support from so many local businesses. Without them, this magazine would not exist. As you read through the articles, please make note of our advertisers. And if you patronize any of our wonderful customers, please be sure to let them know you saw them here. It’s a win-win for all of us. Our fall issue is another great one. You’ll learn about Ocean City Beach and the N.C. Civil Rights Trail in Pat Fontana’s excellent story, and you’ll read about local businesses like Oval & Ale, Topsail Pie Company and Beach Mamas Bootcamp. You’ll learn about an incredible effort to paddle the entire N.C. coast to advocate for N.C. Coastal Federation plus about Share the Table’s efforts to build a much-needed new location for its food pantry, community meals and educational programs. As always, Sandi Grigg offers up some tasty recipes for a cocktail and a meal.
We love producing this magazine for the Topsail area, and we appreciate our readers as much as we do our advertisers. Thank you, everyone, for helping to make Topsail Magazine a success.
Happy fall!
