For their March outing, 14 Millwater ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out) took advantage of a wonderful asset we have on our doorstep, the Hibiscus Coast Community RSA Club Rooms and Restaurant.

We arrived at midday, in good time to enjoy lunch provided by the very accomplished new chef and his assistants. After a most delicious meal chosen from the extensive menu, we retired to the games room for pool, snooker or darts.

Eight members took on the challenge of the two full-sized snooker tables:

Table One: Bruce Heyrick and John Green challenged Roger Spragg and Alan Mills, with Bruce and John eventually scoring the winning points.

Table Two: David Lakin (pictured here, in action) and Mike Wood challenged Peter Robins and Graeme Osborne to a close game, with David and Mike sliding in as winners.

The remaining six members, not to be left out, were a generous audience with their appreciation and advice on the style and pace of play.

An afternoon tea at the organiser’s home provided the perfect ending to yet another enjoyable ROMEO outing.
