It’s great to be geng back to some normality and to be able to socialise again! With the return of the BS10 Bingo and the Travelling Teapot (bigger and beer than before) we have welcomed some new members and sadly have had to say goodbye to others. We were saddened by the loss of a member and dear friend Sheila Boyce. We will remember Sheila with such affecon.
During the reopening of the Bingo we set about raising funds for the Jubilee celebraons. It was decided to revamp the pao area outside The Woodnook community room and hold a celebratory tea party in honour of our Queen, completely funded by The Travelling Teapot. Unfortunately, we experienced some an-social behaviour that le us unable to connue with the event so sadly we had to abandon it.
But as the saying goes ‘where there’s a will there’s a way’ and we decided to plough the remainder of the funds into a couple of trips! Our first trip was to Yate shopping centre where we shopped ll we dropped (helped along by a few refreshment stops), and then on the way back we called into Poplars Farm Café in Frampton Coerell, where Wendy wanted to take a lile piglet home!
Our second trip was to Cadbury Garden Centre where we browsed and purchased many beauful things for the garden and enjoyed a cream tea. We had a fabulous me with lots of laughter and banter with our driver Barry from Lawrence Weston Community Transport.
We hope to connue trips subsidised by the Travelling Teapot with a contribuon of only £2 per person. We look forward to providing many more events in the near future as they have proven to be a social lifeline to many!
A BIG thankyou to Wendy Daly for all her help and support.
