Let me be honest. I’m going to fail Again. I’m going to spill this cup to see How water violates my wanting

To contain it. I’m going to jump off The bridge of my desire to do nothing

But drown in the river below it. Watch me

Drown with this body. Let me be alone. I promise to emerge again reborn.

My idea of beauty was once so different. I dreamt of all the women I ever loved. Each pulling their hair behind an ear

For different reasons. To smear the earth

With wound, to remove the illusion

Of distance, to plant a stupor in the heart.

Sometimes, to request: As if to say, dig Deeper, find another breath inside you.

I forget how I am blessed with feeling: A mountain emerges from within me, trees

Bearing new fruits, their damp leaves letting A few drops trickle through the breadth Of their perfect shape, quenching roots

That have begun to harden. Myself

Checking to see if I’m still here. Clouds

Disperse. Somewhere else, it’s raining.
