ORDER OF SERVICE MUSICAL PRELUDE

The Lydians (Singers /Steel)

INTROIT

The Lydians and Officiating Clergy

AND CAN IT BE And can it be that I should gain An interest in the Saviour’s blood? Died he for me, who caused His pain? For me, who Him to death pursued? Amazing love! How can it be That thou my God shouldst die for me! The mystery all! The Immortal dies: Who can explore His strange design? In vain the first-born seraph tries To sound the depths of love divine. Tis mercy all! Let earth adore Let angel minds inquire no more. He left His Father’s throne above So free, so infinite His grace Emptied himself of all but love

HYMN (Come Holy Ghost)

And bled for Adam’s chosen race. Tis mercy all, immense and free; For O, my God , it found out me! Long my imprisoned spirit lay Fast bound in sin and nature’s night; Thine eye diffused a quickening ray I woke the dungeon flamed with light: My chains fell off, my heart was free, I rose went forth and followed Thee. No condemnation now I dread! Jesus, and all in Him, is mine! Alive in Him, my living Head, And clothed in righteousness divine. Bold I approach the eternal throne, And claim the crown, through Christ my own. Charles Wesley, 1707-88

REDEDICATION Reading of the Lydians Mission Statement The Lydians

(Led by Garnet Allen, General Manager)

"We believe in GOD. Our belief demands that we live in service of GOD’S Greater Glory. We recognise that music is a gift and the ability to perform it is a grace - this leads us to develop our skills to their fullest and to give all who wish, our co-operation and support that they may develop their own ability. We recognise that our improvement as musicians will be achieved only through unrelenting effort, through practice and discipline, through accepting instruction and by our willingness to be patient as we teach and encourage others.

Song

The fruit of our effort we offer only to GOD to feed His hungry to heal His sick to educate His untaught. We offer our song as well: to bring solace where there is grief, to mark His presence where there is joy, and to bring His Name to all people. We set ourselves the goal of Excellence: Perfection will not be achieved in our mortal lives but that knowledge does not remit our effort, for we know that, if judged worthy, we shall hear the Perfect Harmony, Eternal; as we return to GOD."

VOTE OF THANKS Song (GOD bless our Nation)

GOD bless our nation Of many varied races May we possess that common love That binds and makes us One. Let it be known around the World That we can boast of Unity And take a pride in Our Liberty. GOD bless our isles of tropic beauty rare Of flaming Poinciana And shady immortelle The warm and sparkling waters

PRAYER: TEACH US GOOD LORD

Christine Chan A Shing Welfare Officer

The Lydians

J. Pyle & J. Knights Keyboard: M. Cumberbatch That beat upon our shores Beat out a tune that seem to tell We take a pride in Our Liberty. GOD bless our leaders Give them grace to guide Bestow on them thy judgement wise To rule our land aright To keep the flag of freedom high that we may sing most lustily We take a pride in Our Liberty.

(Lt Colonel Anthony Whitehall or Marielle Cooper-Leach)

We usually end our rehearsals and performances either with the “Prayer for Generosity” of St. Ignatius of Loyola or one of two songs. Today we bring closure to our Choir Service with the “Prayer for Generosity”

Teach us, good Lord, to serve Thee as Thou deservest; to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labour and not to ask for any reward, save that of knowing that we do your will. And may the grace of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us this night, and forever more. Amen
