About Prince George RCMP Officer in Charge

Superintendent Darin Rappel is the current Officer in Charge of the Prince George Detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

Superintendent Rappel grew up in Northern Alberta and joined the RCMP in 2001. His career began in Williams Lake where he gained experiences in small town policing. He then moved to Kamloops, B.C. in 2005, working in Serious Crime, Property Crime and in the Professional Responsibility Unit. He returned to Northern B.C in 2017 in the Professional Responsibility role, followed by a promotion to the Staff Sergeant in charge of the General Investigative Section.

Superintendent Rappel was promoted to Inspector in 2021 as the Investigative Services Officer and promoted once more to the role of Officer in Charge of the Prince George RCMP in 2024.
