Understanding Sourdough Starter feeding, ratios, leaven, when to use, what to feed
Sourdough starter has become a widely discussed topic lately, and it’s no wonder why. Home cooks and bakers are embracing slower, more mindful cooking processes, and what better place to start than with the most humble of foods: bread. Humans have been naturally leavening their breads for tens of thousands of years, with little more than three simple ingredients: flour, water, and time. Add salt, and you’ve got a delicious and nutritious loaf of bread. Baking sourdough bread offers an opportunity to combine science with art to craft something nourishing, wholesome, and beautiful with your hands. This may sound intimidating, but I promise you it isn’t difficult. The benefit of sourdough becoming so popular across food media outlets and social media is that there is a ton of information out there. I’ve spent countless hours reading cookbooks, other blogs, online baking resources and forums, and, most importantly, talking directly with other sourdough bakers through social media. I have seen the most questions come up about the starter itself, so I have compiled this resource for you to use when beginning your sourdough journey. This detailed guide will walk you through every step of the process, with helpful hints and visual information along the way. Whether you read it top to bottom or use it as a reference, soon you will be able to confidently bake naturally leavened goods with your very own starter. When you have $80,000 in the bank and a paid-off $1,000 work truck, people may assume that you're broke. However, if you have $1,000 in the bank and an $80,000 financed truck, people assume that you're doing great. It's important not to let material possessions fool you into judging someone.

1/2 cup green onions chopped
Instructions 1. Add the cream cheese, sour cream, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder to a medium bowl. Using a mixer beat on medium speed until smooth and creamy.
2. Turn the speed to low and mix in 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese. After that add half of the chopped bacon, half of the minced jalapeno, and half of the chopped green onions. 3. In a medium Ziploc bag combine the remaining cheddar cheese, bacon, jalapenos, and green onions, and store in the refrigerator.
4. Layout a large piece of plastic wrap on the kitchen counter. Spoon the cream cheese mixture into a ball shape and bring up the sides of the plastic wrap to cover the cheese ball. 5. Shape the cheese into a ball and refrigerate it for 6-8 hours or better overnight. 6. Remove the cheese ball about 20-30 minutes prior to serving. 7. Spread the reserved mixture from the Ziploc bag on a large plate. 8. Unwrap the ball and roll it evenly in the reserved toppings so it covers the whole surface. 9. Serve with crackers. 2024 RRSP Contribution and Deduction Limit Rules The RRSP contribution deadline for 2023 is February 29, 2024 Making an RRSP contribution is a great way to plan for your future. By contributing to an RRSP, you may claim a tax deduction which can help to reduce the total amount of income tax you pay. Income earned within the RRSP is also tax deferred until it's withdrawn which may allow you to potentially build a larger retirement fund. To help you get started, we break down the rules on making RRSP contributions, so that you can make the most mileage out of your plan. •
With an RRSP, your contributions may be tax-deductible, meaning that you can possibly claim a tax deduction for the amount you contribute and potentially reduce taxable income when filing your taxes. This means potentially paying less tax and saving more money.
•
Growth of your investments inside an RRSP are tax deferred until withdrawn
•
While RRSPs are primarily used to save for retirement, if you are a first time home buyer you may withdraw funds from your RRSP to help with the down payment on a qualifying home through the Home Buyers' Plan or to fund your education through the Lifelong Learning Plan1.
•
With a Spousal RRSP, couples can potentially reduce the family's overall tax liability by shifting retirement income from higher-income spouse to the lower income spouse
