Joongdongcomestogether forsportsdayoutdoors

TheatmosphereatJoongdongHigh SchoolwaselectrifiedonMay18as thefirstandsecondgradersgathered atthesoccerfieldfortheannualBaeknongSportsDay.

Thishighlyanticipatedeventprovideda welcomebreakfromtheclassroomforthe students.Dividedintothreegroups—'Sympathy','Respect',and'Together'—eachconsistingofstudentsfromclasses1to4,5to8, and9to12,theteamsworematchingclass shirtsintheirdesignatedcolors.

Thecompetitionkickedoffwithanexciting dancebattlebetweenvolunteersfromeach group,showcasingtheirimpressivemovesto theenthusiasticaudience.

Followingthat,aseriesofmini-games,includingparachuteraces,relayraces,andtugof-wars,tookplace.Pointswereawardedto eachteambasedontheirperformanceinthe mini-games.

Thecompetitionremainedclosethroughout,withTeam'Together'emergingasthe victorwith1400points,closelyfollowedby Team'Sympathy'with1250pointsandTeam 'Respect'with1100points.

Justaseveryonewasgatheringfortheprize awardceremony,asuddendownpour drenchedthefield.Studentshurriedlysought shelter,dartingfromalldirectionstowardsthe nearestbuilding.Naturally,theceremonyhad tobepostponedandeveryonewenthome.

AstudentfromTeam'Together'said,"The atmospherewasamazing.Iwishwecould experiencethiseveryday."Anotherstudent fromTeam'Sympathy'sharedthatMay18 wouldforeverbeamemorabledayforthem.

Althoughonlyoneteamemergedasthe winner,everyonefoundgreatjoyinbonding withtheirrespectivegroupsandparticipating inthisthrillingcompetition.

OnMay15,Teacher’sDay,wegatheredto expressourdeepappreciationforourteachers.

TheceremonybeganduringthethirdperiodattheChangjogwan.Afterthestudents assembledintheauditorium,teacherswho havemadesignificantcontributionstothe schoolwerepresentedwithwell-deserved prizes.

Witheachteacher'snameannounced,a waveofthunderousapplausefilledtheauditorium,demonstratingthestudents'heartfelt gratitude.Next,PrincipalLeetookthestage anddeliveredaspeechhonoringourbeloved teachers.

Followingthespeech,agroupofstudents whovolunteeredtosing‘Teacher'sFavor’ steppedforwardandserenadedourteachers. Oneparticipatingstudentsharedtheirexcitement,expressingthattheperformancewent justaswellastheyhadpracticed.

Addingaspecialtouchtotheday'scelebrations,aformergraduate,whoisatalented singer,performedtwosongsdedicatedto ourteachers.

AsketchcontestonMay19markedthefirst outdooractivityoftheyearforfirstgraders. TheeventtookplaceinSeonjeongneung Park,wheretheygatheredat8AM.

Equippedwithdrawingpaperandpencils, thestudentsfoundtheirpreferredspotsin theparkandbegansketchingthebeautiful sceneryundertheclearbluesky.Somefocusedoncapturingthecharmofthepine woods,whileothersdepictedtheburialhills.

“Itwasawesometobeinnatureaftera longtime,andwasexcitingtomakenew memoriesandtodrawpictureswithnew friendsasahighschooler.”saidJihoonBaek, afirst-yearstudent.

Thedaykickedoffwithafunquizbasedon thedesignatedbooks, GoodDiscriminator and WhyFishDon’tExist,andthevideotitled ‘IntheEyesofCharlesDarwin’,allofwhich theparticipantshadstudiedinadvance.

Then,theyformedtengroupstodiscuss chosentopics.Afterlunch,everyonejoined the'WorldCafé'session,duringwhich everyonemingledandmovedtoagroupthat presentedadiscussiontopictheywere

ThehighlyanticipatedCharacter-Career LecturesProgramhasmadeatriumphantreturnthisyear,bringingwithitafreshlineupof esteemedinstructors.

Throughoutthefirstsemester,atotalof sevenspeakersgracedourschoolwiththeir expertise.TypicallyheldonTuesdaysand Thursdaysfrom4:30to6,theselecturesprovidedJoongdongstudentswithvaluableinsights.

However,forthesixthsession,aspecialarrangementwasmadetoallowparentstoattend.ThelecturetookplaceonaSaturday from4to5:30P.M.

Firstandsecond-yearstudentsembarkedonajourneytoexplorethe captivatinghistoryofSeoulonJune1 inteamsoftwoclasses.

Twoclassesinparticular,Class1-11and112,whomthereporterfollowed,settheir sightsonBukchonHanokVillage,aplacethat immersesvisitorsinKoreantraditionsandhistorybyprovidinghands-onexperiences.

TheirfirststopwasChangdeokgungPalace, wherestudents,marvelingatthestunningarchitecture,embarkedonengagingmissions. Eachstudenthadamissiontofulfill,whichincludedcapturingapictureofaspecificlocationwiththeirteammembers'facesinit.

ChangdeokgungPalaceleftaprofoundimpressiononthestudents,allowingthemto sensethedistinctbeautyofancientKorea, differentfromthemodernworld.

Aftera90-minuteexplorationof ChangdeokgungPalace,theteamsgathered forawell-deservedlunchbreak.Allstudents, bothfirstandsecondgraders,received 10,000wonfromourgenerousprincipal,ex-

Firstandsecondgradersfromourschool wenttoSeoulNationalCemeteryandpaid tributetothosewhosacrificedforour country,cleaningtombstones.

Uponarrival,thestudentsfirstvisitedthe MemorialTower,wheretheytookamoment tooffertheirprayersfortheheroesofthe KoreanWar.Standinginfrontofthetower, theybowedtheirheadsinsilentreverence. Aftertheprayer,thestudentstookatourof SeoulNationalCemetery.

Afterwards,equippedwithglovesandhats, thestudentsactivelyengagedincleaning activities.Theytookituponthemselvesto cleanthetombstonesandtheyard, meticulouslypickingupwasteandremoving weeds.Followingthecleaningsession,the studentsgatheredatHyunchoongmoonto witnessacaptivatingperformanceby soldiers,showcasingvariousmilitary
