Benji came to Lawrenceville in 1994, residing in Cleve House and serving as

Mark was chosen by his fellow Lawrentians to serve a four-year rotating term as Alumni Trustee. He came to Lawrenceville in 1968 from Dickinson, North Dakota, on a “newsboy” scholarship and boarded in Thomas, Dickinson, and Upper Houses, serving as vice president of Thomas. He also served as editor of the Olla Podrida and president of the German Club, sang in the Chapel Choir, and played varsity football. Upon graduation, Mark received the Harvard Club Book Prize and the Brainard Prize and was offered a Morehead Scholarship. He is a former member of the Alumni Association Executive Committee, was an Alumni Selector, and has served multiple terms as a Reunion volunteer and Class Agent.

president of Davidson and Upper East. He competed in lacrosse, wrestling, House football, and senior golf. Benji was also a member of Skeet Club, Young Republicans, Karate Club and House Council. He graduated from Princeton University in 2003, where he was a member of the NCAA National Championship lacrosse team in 2001 and Ivy League Champion teams from 2000-2003. Following an early career in banking, Benji co-founded and is a managing partner of Blue Water Advisors LP, which focuses on developing and operating real asset and infrastructure-based businesses in the Americas. In this capacity, he is also a co-founder or director of several additional businesses in the U.S. and South America. Along with other Griswold family members, Benji is a trustee of the Fancy Hill Foundation. Established in 2001 in Baltimore, the Fancy Hill Foundation supports a variety of causes, including environmental protection, education, health care, and the performing arts. Benji is married to Andrea DeMuth Griswold ’99, and the couple has three children: Benji Jr., Alexandra and Blake. Both Benji and Andrea are former members of the Young Alumni Council Leadership Circle.

After graduating from Princeton University, Mark spent the next 33 years in the pharmaceutical industry, rising through increasing levels of global executive responsibility at major firms. He currently advises other C-suite executives at Lee Hecht Harrison, a global leadership consulting firm. He is a board member of the EBV Foundation, an organization that supports graduates of the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Wounded Veterans, and serves on the board of business executives for Gridiron Capital. He is also a trustee and the treasurer of the Princeton Symphony Orchestra. Mark lives in Princeton with his wife, Cynthia. Their children, Christopher ’01, Andrew ’04, and Jennifer ’06, are all Lawrentians.
