Charity time Various Dates This September brings a host of charity events to Lanzarote, raising funds for all sots of good causes. Spain has still not really embraced the car-boot, jumble sale and Flöhmarkt culture that can be seen on any weekend in cities in Britain and Germany, but the expats here on Lanzarote are doing their best. You’ll find the regular monthly SARA boot sale at Tahiche Garden Centre on the 12th, the monthly Kennel Klub jumble sale at the Concord Bar in Playa Honda on the 5th and the Original PALS bootsale which takes place every Sunday at Lanzarote a Caballo. SARA also run a bookstall at Teguise´s Sunday market, where you´ll also find a junk stall run by drug rehab charity Aunar.

But that´s not all this month. On the 19th September, 9lives Lanzarote hold a bargain sale at the Sociedad in Güime – the scene of many sales in the past; and the Kennel Klub will be holding a fashion show at the Club Calypso in Puerto del Carmen on the 25th. Finally, don´t miss Lanzarote´s Biggest Coffee Morning at Lanzarote A Caballo on the 26th – cakes, tea, coffee and plenty of entertainment, all in aid of MacMillan Cancer Aid.
Classical month Various Dates
August is Lanzarote´s most important festival month, with some of It´s a good month for classical fans this month, with a handful of tempting events

First, the regular performances of TEMPO Lanzarote at Los Cuevas de Los Verdes will allow you to enjoy the timple mastery of Benito Cabrera supported by the Classical Orchestra of Lanzarote. On the 19th September, classical pianist Veronica Shoot will perform at the Camel House in Macher. Hailed by the great Yehudi Menuhin as a future talent when she was only 8, Russian-born Veronica has toured the world and is one of the most charismatic and versatile performers on today´s scene. Her appearance on Lanzarote promises to be an unmissable event. And don´t forget to pencil the 9th and 12th October into your diary, when three talented opera singers and a pianist will perform two separate nights of Italian opera at the Salon El Islote in Arrecife´s Gran Hotel. Tickets are on sale for this Lyric Gala already.
