The bride’s uncle officiated the ceremony, which blended Hispanic and Catholic elements, like a unity candle and coins. “We chose to have the entire ceremony in Spanish,” Alexis says. “It felt more romantic.”

“We love Texas and all the things that make it special,” Alexis says. “It is who we are, a part of us. We also wanted to expose this beautiful location to our closest friends and family that had never visited the area.” An outdoor ceremony with the Chisos Mountains as the picturesque backdrop was followed by a laid-back dinner party. As favors, Mexican blankets were on hand for the chilly fall evening. “We were off on the weather—it was actually 25 degrees!” she says.
