make it legal North Florida Area Marriage License Requirements GUIDELINES FOR OBTAINING A MARRIAGE LICENSE In North Florida, the legal age for marriage is 18 years old. Couples under 18 must have parental consent. Florida has a required three-day waiting period and asks that the bride and groom present a valid photo ID and Social Security number to obtain the marriage license, which is valid for 60 days. Licenses are valid out of county, but not out of state. Residency and blood tests are not required. Both the bride and groom must apply for and sign the license together. There is a fee of $93.50 (methods of payment vary), which can be reduced to $61 upon completion of a premarital course. If either the bride or groom has been previously married, she or he must know the dates of divorce or death; documents may be required. Offices are open Monday through Friday.
