If anyone knows shoes, it’s Tamara Mellon. In 1996, she left her post as an accessories editor at British Vogue to cofound a company with an East London cobbler named Jimmy Choo (maybe you’ve heard of it?). Over the next 16 years, she built one of the most recognized luxury brands in the world, worn by fashion icons—both real and fictional—like Beyoncé and Carrie Bradshaw.
