EDITOR’S LET TER
Fall has always been my favorite season. It’s when I got married, and, it turns out, it’s when many of you are tying the knot too. (Fall surpassed summer as the most popular wedding season according to our 2016 Real Weddings Study.) And it’s also when we celebrate bridal fashion. Our special Fashion issue includes the Runway Report (p. 85), a look at designer Reem Acra’s illustrious career and latest collection (p. 96), and a fashion story featuring beautiful, classic gowns shot in Saratoga Springs, New York (“Off to the Races,” p. 240). Fashion even inspired “Haute Cakes” (p. 190), which showcases confections designed to match the details of some iconic wedding dresses. (Yes, you can base your cake on your bridal look!) Of course, fashion wasn’t the only thing on our minds—we thought a lot about helping you plan a personalized day, starting with the hottest food trends and how to make them your own (“Inspiring Eats,” p. 143). Plus our stunning and original Real Weddings (p. 205)—including an elegant backyard affair and a whimsical Brooklyn loft ceremony—will give you fresh ideas for your own celebration. And the issue wouldn’t be complete without our favorite spots for a postwedding getaway. In “10 Most Romantic Honeymoons” (p. 346) we highlight the resorts and destinations that offer truly special experiences for couples. After a year or more of planning your wedding together, a dreamy vacation for two is often the best gift you can give to yourselves. Congratulations!
