A theme tells a whole story. Pick something personal, but one important tip: Don’t make it too obvious. I try to incorporate only the essence of a theme to keep @daughterodesign from going overboard.

The concept of this shoot was to create five totally unique and gorgeous looks to show brides how many options they have when it comes to wedding day makeup. My favorite was “boho.” It all came together— the natural light was beautiful and the @thoravikar model was stunning.

WHAT’S YOUR TOP BRIDAL BEAUTY TIP?
Don’t try to do something drastically different. Instead, think you—but better. Your wedding makeup should be a bumped up version of your regular look. You’ll feel more comfortable and be less likely to look back at your photos years from now and go, “What was I thinking?” @alyssahertzig

WHAT WAS IT LIKE ON THE SET OF OUR FASHION SHOOT?
I loved walking into the staging room to meet the team and seeing the light streaming through the incredible textures of the different gowns. The tables full of ribbons, feathers and flowers made it feel like an enchanted workshop where some magic was about to happen. @carolineknopf

WHICH STORY ARE YOU MOST EXCITED ABOUT? My favorite feature in this issue is our “2016 Beauty Awards.” I think everyone will love the amazing products selected by our editorial team and readers, and the way they’re presented in the story. I can’t complain about getting to test the products either! @katelynmbaker
