armencita Whonder (39 and works in fashion) and Augustine Saylee (41 and works in hospitality) set out to create a different sort of islandinspired wedding weekend for their nuptials in her native Jamaica. “I wanted to create an experience that was new,” Carmencita says. “Easy elegance in an old-world setting in one of the most unspoiled locations in the Caribbean—that not only sums up our style but also our personality.” Heading to the north shore of the island, the couple hosted a stylish black tie affair in a seaside castle, and incorporated plenty of Jamaican charm: steel drums, jerk spices, rumsoaked black fruit cake and a surprise concert by local Grammy Award–nominated singer Freddie McGregor. Augustine’s midnight-blue tuxedo was even inspired by James Bond, Jamaican resident Ian Fleming’s famous character. —Stephanie Cain
