OBITUARIES MAMIE J. GEDDINGS MANNING — Mamie Lorie Jackson Geddings, 96, widow of Murray Geddings, died on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at her home. Born on Feb. 12, 1920, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Zannie J. and Lorie Hudson Jackson. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Audrey Jean Geddings; a grandson, Billy Dukes; a great-grandson, Craig Bagnal; two sisters, Alethea J. Geddings and Pearl Morris; and four brothers, David Jackson, Raymond Jackson, Harold Jackson and T.W. Jackson. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Home Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Benny Barwick and the Rev. Robert Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. JAMES M. HENDERSON James Melvin Henderson, age 62, beloved husband of Debra Ann Henderson, died on Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at Palmetto Health Tuomey. Born in Forth Worth, Texas, he was the son of Anita Marr and the late Paul Henderson. HENDERSON Mr. Henderson retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Tech. Sgt. and was an employee of Caterpillar Inc. He enjoyed going to the movies with his son and daughter and loved his dog, Oliver. He was a very kind person and would help anyone. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers fanatic. James was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his wife, are one son, Sean Patrick Henderson of Charlotte, North Carolina; one daughter, Kimberly Dawn Henderson of Columbia; two sisters, Paula Barnard and her husband, Richard, of Dallas, Texas, and Debbie Williams and her husband, Dale, of Fort Worth, Texas; numerous nieces and nephews; and his special canine companion, Oliver, who was like a son to him.
