“Village government is the closest to our local residents,” Cohen said, “so we can help provide initial service to our residents which is most important.”

She said the whole board wants to help make the community better, and they work together in an efective and collaborative fashion. She said they are keen to hear residents’ input and opinions.

“The big thing is listening and then helping to provide good counsel,” Cohen said.

Reisman was appointed as the vil- lage justice in December 2018 to fll a vacancy and was elected for his current term in June 2019. This would be his second election, but he is seeking a third term.

He is one of the three founding partners of Reisman Peirez Reisman & Capobianco in Garden City and heads the frm’s Business and Financial Services practice groups. He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1967.

Reisman is noted for his legal representation of numerous victims of swindler Bernie Madof, who stole millions from his investors.

Eforts to contact Resiman were un- availing.

All candidates are running under the Homeowner Party. All ofcers serve four-year terms.

The election will be held from noon to 9 p.m. June 20 at the North Hills village hall at One Shelter Rock Road.
