LUKE COMER Chair of European Operations The Comer Group From Glenamaddy, Co. Galway, Luke Comer set up a plastering firm with his brother Luke, which turned into a £2billion enterprise. He lives in Monaco, but spends much of his time in London. MICHALE CONWAY Chief Executive Officer, FM Conway Michael was appointed as Managing Director in 1981, upon his father, Frank Conway’s retirement, and has developed the business from its origins of a highway maintenance contractor into the business it is today. Renowned for his vision, innovation and determination, over the last 30 years Michael has gained a reputation for his progressive approach to construction industry recycling and sustainability. EAMON CONNEELY Chairman & CEO Conneely Construction Eamon Conneely, from Galway, founded the Conneely Group in Dublin in 1985 as a plastering and partitioning subcontractor. The London offices were opened in 2006.

TOM FERNCOMBE Founder and Chairman of Cappagh Group Tom Ferncombe founded Cappagh Contactors Construction in 1973. The company has a huge portfolio of blue chip customers from Thames Water to Southern Gas.

TIM DEVLIN Managing Director, Clifford Devlin Tim Clifford has been with demolition business Clifford Devlin since 1978. TREVOR DIVINEY Co-Founder, Ground Construction Ltd With roots in Donegal and Wexford, Diviney co-founded Ground Construction in 1997 with Tipperary man Paddy Shanahan. NIALL McLAUGHLIN Founder, Niall McLaughlin Architects Born in 1962 in Geneva, Switzerland, Niall McLaughlin grew up in Ireland and studied architecture at University College Dublin before heading to London in the late 1980s. He won Young British Architect of the Year in 1998 and this year’s RIBA Charles Jencks Award. TOM MITCHELL Founder, T Mitchell & Co Plant Hire Tom Mitchell was born in Maugherow, Co. Sligo in 1944. He moved to London in 1963, starting out on his own in 1973. His company now offers a full range of modern plant operated or self-drive throughout the south-east of England. MICHAEL MORAN Founder, MP Moran & Sons Ltd In 1976, having spotted a gap in the market, Michael opened a hardware store on Kilburn’s busy High Road, which flourished and set up the foundation for a group that would eventually employ over 180 people. Today his stores provide everything from materials for major building projects to equipment for garden landscaping.
