COMMUNITY Alpharetta Rotary Club Supports The Men and Women in Uniform After September 11, 2001, The Alpharetta Rotary Club made a commitment to support our men and women in uniform by recognizing the sacrifice that they make for our nation. The club began sending care packages in 2003 and they haven’t stopped since. They have supported the Army, Marine and Air Force units. The units that are sent care packages have been referred to the Rotary Club by one of its members, neighbors of our club members, and from returning veterans. The Alpharetta Rotary Club supported elements of the Georgia 48th Brigade during their deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan and are currently adopting two combat units from the 4th Infantry Division serving in Kunar Province, Afghanistan. Sometimes the point person in the combat theater has a local Georgia connection. One of the Platoon leaders for the current adopted units went to Sequoya High in Cherokee County and is a North Georgia College graduate as well. Many units rotate out of theatre in March and April each year. Subsequently the care packages are usually sent starting in June and then every three or four months. The last set of boxes went out in July 2012. In the last four or five years most of the care packages have gone to combat units that are based in remote areas and include toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwash, and sunblock, soap and lip balm. Food is a popular item and the club includes canned fruit, all kinds of nuts, candy, cookies, pre-made tuna lunches, beef jerky, raisins, drink mix and slim jims. To complete the package a football, playing cards and a poker set are added. Veterans have said that there are periods of intense pressure and boredom and that the food and games help their morale. The soldiers sometimes send thank you notes back to the Alpharetta Rotary Club as well as a US flag that was flown over a combat base. The correspondence received from the units is always from the heart. Through its fundraising efforts the Alpharetta Rotary Club has committed a good portion of its budget to support our soldiers. “We appreciate William Perkins taking charge of this very important project for our club and we plan to continue supporting our troops in the future, “said Bill Weeks, President of the Alpharetta Rotary Club. COMMUNITY Welcome to My House The non-profit organization, My House, is extremely dedicated to providing a loving and nurturing home for medically fragile infants and children who have been discharged from the hospital but have nowhere to go- often because of parental drug abuse, neglect or physical or sexual abuse. My House provides a caring and cost effective alternative for these “boarder babies” that would otherwise spend days, sometimes months in the austere care of the hospital because they are unable to go home to their families. Since opening in June of 1999, My House has opened welcoming arms to more than 150 children, alleviating the financial burden of extended hospital stays while providing the medical, developmental and advocacy needs for these special children. The full- and part-time staff and numerous volunteers provide a safe home and constant, loving, 24-hour care so that these children can get a new start on life.

Founder Donna Carson is an incredible woman with 25 years of experience as a neonatal social worker with Emory University School of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics at Grady Memorial Hospital. Donna brings a wealth of experience, leadership and insight but most importantly, unconditional love and a warm spirit to the My House family. Despite all of her great efforts, there are still children who are in need of this care but not able to be accommodated. Sadly, many of these children will not be adopted because of severe medical problems. Her goal is to develop a program model that can be implemented throughout Georgia and in other states so that more infants and children can be cared for in the effective and nurturing environment that My House provides. SHE WANTS TO BUILD MORE HOUSES! She does not want to have to turn down any child, and I do not blame her!

I was personally able to go and visit these incredible children. I was told that some, because of extreme neglect and abuse, really should not have survived. It is truly amazing what the power of love can do! COMMUNITY Life Teammates® Scholarship Award The Will To Live Foundation, Inc., in keeping with its mission, its principles and its motto of “For the Kids, Through the Kids, By the Kids,” announced the winners of their second annual Life Teammates® Scholarship Award earlier this summer: The 2012 Winners: Men’s Lacrosse: Brian Bui (West Point, Academy) Woman’s Lacrosse: Nicole Vacarella (Young Harris College) Men’s Baseball: Eddie Boone (University of S. Carolina) Woman’s Soccer: Aubrey Walsh (Vanderbilt University) Once again, this year’s winners from Northview High School were selected by their peers and Life Teammates at the end of the 2012 school year.

“We were so pleased to be able to expand the Life Teammates Scholarship Award to four sports programs at Northview High this year,” said John Trautwein, who along with his wife Susie formed the Will To Live Foundation to spread the awareness of teen suicide after their son Will, a freshman at Northview High School, took his own life in October of 2010. Each winner, a student athlete from Northview High School, was presented with a $3,000 scholarship to put towards their college tuition for the 2012 and 2013 school year. Susie Trautwein added, “The kids of Northview have been such a huge part of the foundation’s success and such wonderful ambassadors of our Life Teammate message. COMMUNITY City of Milton Governor honors MDA Boot Drive, Firefighters Milton raises record breaking $65,620.71 through boot drives In a ceremony August 14th, Gov. Nathan Deal proclaimed August “MDA Firefighter Appreciation Month” in recognition of the selfless service of departments across the state in the fight against muscular dystrophy.

Firefighters from Milton were in attendance at the d historic occasion, joining colleagues from the Atlanta and Rockdale fire departments and representatives from the ees Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Milton’s designees were honored for their work in raising a record breaking st $65,620.71 through boot drives this summer - topping last year’s total by nearly $5,000. “I’d like to personally thank the extremely generous residents and drivers in Milton for their tremendous support of the boot drive in this, and previous, years,” said Fire Chief Robert Edgar. “Every year, we surpass ourr goals because our residents and motorists are so giving.”” Deal’s proclamation honors the continued contributions of firefighters who volunteer hundreds of hours to d support annual boot drives, golf tournaments, camp and numerous other events to benefit the MDA. For more than 50 years, these firefighters have teamed up with MDA to fight muscle disease. In five years, the City of Milton Fire Department has raised more than $221,000 - not counting this year’s totals - for MDA, which uses the money to aid local children and adults affected by neuromuscular diseases by providing wheelchairs, leg braces, clinic visits, support groups and a chance for children to attend Camp Walk-N-Roll. COMMUNITY 6th Annual College Football Kickoff Charity Event Just One Angel held its 6th Annual College Football Kickoff Charity Event at the beautiful Bear’s Best golf course in Suwanee, Georgia on August 19th. Just One Angel is a locally based Johns Creek charity formed in 2010 to provide love, support and assistance for the children in our community suffering from chronic, debilitating or life threatening illness. KIDS AND KAY & AMAZING KIDS Kids And Kay ‘TIS the SEASON for REASON My mother’s reason for every command was “because I said so!” Today’s relationship of reasoning with children, especially when it comes to routines, is much more complicated than that….and a lot more time consuming! Getting to bed on time, getting up on time, homework time, soccer, ballet, piano, baseball, football, and on and on, the life of a child is very busy! If parents don’t establish a routine for their child, things will go haywire…. not to mention parents’ schedules and time management being in chaos. s. September is the perfect time to establish the reason for routines with children. If anyone is like me, the remaining couple of weeks of August still had a summer time vibe even though it was back to school time, so it was pretty tough to establish a reason for a routine when there was still the argument from kids that the pool was still open and it was not getting dark until way past when children should be getting in bed.…! September is soon enough to say “ok everyone, you know what to expect with getting up early for school, the pool is closed, it’s back to business”…and a routine…. and take it from there. Brain research (again with my hobby) supports that whatever a child’s home life is like is what their brain will search for as a pattern in school. If a child’s home life is without rules, structure, or reason then they will find it hard to reason why they should follow rules and structure at school. Establishing boundaries that model reasonable expectations for time management and routines makes home life so much more productive and enjoyable, makes a child’s school life predictable for them m and just makes for a happier child….children who know what to expect and what is expected of them are just happier. So ~ we are all reasonable adults. We know that routines need to be established for a productive home life and school life for children. Will they accept it without a lot of whining, arguing, reasoning of their own, or creative manipulation? Who knows? But stay strong and if all reasoning fails, you always have the wisdom of our parents……”because I said so”……. Kay Paschal Owner, Peachtree Park Prep

A Role Model On and Off the Field – Travis Marshall Everybody has a role model in their life, and Travis Marshall has become one to countless people. Now a senior at Chattahoochee High School, Travis has touched the lives of many people all around him. As Travis moved into his freshmen year, his life began to focus more and more on giving back to others. Helping out in Student Venture, soup kitchens, and mentoring younger kids, he feels that these experiences helped him to grow as a person. Student Venture is a small group that reaches out to younger kids to lift their spirits in downtown Atlanta. As Travis was talking to Darren Youngstrom, the leader of Student Venture, he took more of an interest in community service. Recently Travis has talked to dozens of groups of younger people, including some of the Hooch Freshmen football team. Providing advice, sharing stories, and discussing values and character, these gatherings have assisted many and taught them right from wrong. David Nicoletta, a freshman at Chattahoochee High School, was included in one of these meetings. Looking up to Travis greatly, David says he, “Admires how Travis is committed to what he does and the determination he has to reach his goals.”

Coach Terry Crowder, the head football coach, believes in Travis very much and feels, “Travis has great character, leadership skills, and is a VERY talented quarterback.” After all the years of hard work, he has agreed to serve again by committing to attend the United States Naval Academy next fall, where he will play football. This quarterback states, “Giving back gives you a sense of happiness and a feeling that you can better the world.” Travis believes that charity and football changed his life by helping him come down from his ego, and realize there are other people out in the world that need help more than he does. His advice to others trying to give back is, “Don’t be afraid, you should give back as much as possible.” He stands by the quote, “Perfect your weaknesses” which is what he has tried to do all his life. It’s hard not to see that Travis Marshall is a role model on and off the field. by Hope Kemp-Hanson

Not only is Travis an example in the community, y, he is an example on the field. Starting football in 4th grade, he has now evolved into the starting quarterback for Chattahoochee High School. Teaching him about discipline and determination, football educated him to strive to reach his full potential. Throughout his years, one coach had inspired him the most, Patrick Carroll. Telling him never to settle for anything other than greatness, Coach Carroll pushes him to do his best. “Enjoy the small things in life rather than desiring other things” was once told

SCHOOLS King’s Ridge Surprised with Visit by Chris Cauley of The Voice The Class of 2013 started this new school year in a very special way at King’s Ridge Christian School. This close group of 18 seniors traveled up to a lodge in north Georgia for three days to enjoy a relaxing weekend of fun, fellowship and much reection. Students spent time reecting on the year ahead and what they hope to accomplish personally and collectively. Students served in the kitchen for all meals, leaped into the lake off a rope swing, ďŹ shed and went zip-lining. They also experienced a great surprise, when Atlanta-native and contestant from The Voice, Season 2, R&B soul-singer, Chris Cauley showed up and spent the evening leading worship and spent several hours hanging out with the group. It was a fantastic weekend and great encouragement to all.

Elementary School Night at Chattahoochee High School Football The Chattahoochee Cougars Football team will host Elementary School Night at their ďŹ rst home game of the season. On Friday August 31, all elementary school children are encouraged to come see the Cougars take on the Forest Park Panthers starting at 7:30pm. Elementary school students can purchase advance tickets for $5 at the main ofďŹ ce of their respective schools (Lake Windward, Findley Oaks, Abbotts Hill, States Bridge) on either Thursday 8/30 or Friday 8/31. Only with an advance ticket purchase will an elementary student receive a gold “Headed to the Hoochâ€? T-shirt. (Adult tickets are $8 and can be purchased at CHS Main OfďŹ ce or at the stadium gate on game night). DIY ON THE CHEAP Save Big Bucks: Stencil a Rug I was recently searching for a new dining room rug, but I didn’t want to spend a fortune since I have two children who would inevitably throw food on it. Let’s face it, rugs are expensive, and I had a hard time splurging on the high-end options I kept falling in love with. That’s when I decided that I should push my creative “DIY” boundaries to the limit and attempt to make my own rug for a fraction of the cost. I decided to stencil a rug, and guess what? I am thrilled with the results. It actually wasn’t all that difficult. You can do it too! Here’s what you’ll need: A cheap rug (I found a 6x8 rug for $18.00 at a home improvement store.); a wall stencil; acrylic craft paint; fabric medium; painter’s tape, a roller or stencil brush; plastic drop cloth; and paper towels.

How to do it: Lay your rug on top of your plastic drop cloth. Position your stencil on top of the rug, taping down the edges. Mix your paint and fabric medium (two parts paint to one part fabric medium). You can use a roller, but I got better results with a stencil brush. This method can get a bit tedious, but it’s worth it in the end. Dip your brush or roller in the paint, and blot it on a paper towel so that you are left with very little paint. If you use too much, it could seep under the stencil and get messy. If you’re using a brush, hold it vertically and use circular motions to press the paint into the rug. After you finish each section, pick up your stencil, move it over and line it up, and repeat the steps until you’ve covered your entire rug. Allow it to dry completely before moving it. This is an easy way to get a high-end look on a budget. I was able to transform an ugly, cheap rug into something that looks like I spent big bucks on it. MONEY MATTERS & TECHNOLOGY Avoid Getting Gouged by Mutual Funds Mutual funds have traditionally been the vehicle of choice for small investors who don’t have the time or expertise to maintain their own stock portfolio. But mutual funds come with their share of frustrations, including the seemingly high costs and the annoying tendency of this year’s “hot fund” to perform poorly next year. The Money Matters team recently completed a study of actively managed mutual fund costs. It turns out gripes about expenses are legit – they can indeed be very high. But what stood out is the great disparity between what a fund says it costs and the actual cost. We studied 35 popular funds. The average published expense ratio was 0.9 percent, but the actual average expenses were around 3.8 percent. That’s nearly five times the figure provided to investors. That level of cost will eat up profits faster than Piranha coming off a diet. No wonder such actively managed funds, including the majority of top-rated funds, end up underperforming after several “hot” years.

One S&P study shows only 5 percent of mutual funds in the top half of performers over a five-year period were able to stay in the top half during the following five years. In other words, 95 percent of “aboveaverage funds,” fell to “below-average” over the next five years. Another report revealed only 6 percent of the large cap funds that achieved a top-25-percent ranking during a five-year period did so again over the next five years. Costs account for this underperformance. Our Money Matters analysis found mutual fund costs – excluding taxes — averaged almost 3 percent per year. That means the fund manager needs to be 3 percent smarter than the market every year just to break even or match the index. I don’t care where you got your MBA or how much experience you have, that’s nearly impossible. So, what’s the solution for investors? Control your expenses by using low cost Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). ETFs allow tremendous diversification within nearly every investment category while eliminating many fees associated with actively managed funds, including (SPY) the S&P 500 index, and Vanguard’s Dividend Appreciation ETF (VIG). ETFs typically maintain a fairly stable portfolio, which helps reduce their expenses. An ETF that holds 100 stocks will typically change only a handful of holdings in a year. Conversely, actively managed mutual funds routinely have a 100 percent annual turnover in their portfolios. Bottom Line: Steer clear of actively managed mutual funds if you can find an ETF to do the same job. Your portfolio is like a bar of soap. The more you mess with it, the less you’ll have.

Many years ago when Macgregor, Wilson and Spalding were the powerhouse names in golf club manufacturers, they had special craftsmen working in the company’s factory. There are still many amazing craftsmen working for the powerhouse golf companies of today, but they do an assortment of tasks. These craftsmen back in the day were specialists in grinding club heads. The tour players of the day would stand next to this Master Grinder and describe what they liked the club heads to look like and how they wanted them to perform. This Master Grinder would then go to work on the club heads grinding a bit here and there until the club head was exactly what the tour player wanted. Square toe, thin top line, sharper leading edge and less bounce, these were the words the player and the grinder used. If you were fortunate enough to know someone from one of these companies that could get you the “Nicklaus grind”, or the “Crenshaw grind” or even the “Miller grind” on your clubs, it was awesome. You just knew you were going to play better owning this new set.

The same thing happens with individual clubs like wedges, driver and putters. Golfers who get fit stick with these clubs longer. Why you might ask? First there is an investment of time and effort, but most importantly is that we generally hit these clubs better than anything else we have tried or previously owned. Once you get an expert fitter to determine the correct lie angle, shaft type, shaft flex, weight, length and loft for your swing you will immediately see the difference in the quality of your golf shots. So make the investment in time and money to have your clubs fitted and start playing with the right clubs made to your swing. You will play better, enjoy the game more and even want to get onto the golf course more often!

FAITH & VALUES Congregation Dor Tamid Social Action at CDT We have had an incredible spring and summer harvest at the garden right on the Congregation Dor Tamid property! Started by Kathleen Sable and the Social Action Committee and maintained by a great group of volunteers, the garden has produced a bounty of vegetables. Since January 1st, we have donated 1143 lbs 7.8 oz of fresh produce to the Norcross Food Bank. They love to see our dedicated volunteers Betsy Bier and Lesley Radov walk through their doors. The garden has been a great resource for volunteer programs for teens as well as educational programming for the Preschool Place at CDT. Maccabi Games While the rest of the world was focused on the 2012 Olympics in London, two members of Congregation Dor Tamid were competing in Memphis, Tennessee at the JCC Maccabi Games. This was the 30th anniversary of the JCC Maccabi Games – an Olympic style sporting competition held each summer in North America. It’s the second largest organized sports program for Jewish teenagers in the world. From August 5-10, delegations from throughout the US, Canada, Mexico and Israel not only tested their physical skills, but participated

in a cultural journey while learning the values of teamwork, sportsmanship, compassion and community. Johns Creek residents Ben Gorowitz and Sam Nadel were members of the Atlanta 14U Baseball team that earned a silver medal! Team Atlanta played 5 qualifying games in pool play prior to the medal round. On the way to the finals they beat Memphis, Chicago and St. Louis before finally losing to the #1 seed Ft. Lauderdale. Ben rotated at pitcher and first base while Sam rotated as pitcher, second base and shortstop. This was the first time both boys had participated in the Maccabi games and both are looking forward to going back next year to win the gold. Happy New Year L’Shana Tova! I’m not going to run a marathon, but I like to jog. I listen to Fat Boy Slim and I jog for 3 miles. The story I have had for over a year is that I can only jog 3 miles. Why? Don’t know. It’s my story and I’ve stuck to it for over a year. I have a few excuses like my knees might hurt if I jog more or I might get too tired (God forbid). Anyway, some little voice inside me questioned this story recently. This voice said, “You know you could try to jog 4 miles and see what happens.” So I did. It felt not much worse than 3. I got through it. The amazing part is it reminded me of the stories we tell ourselves. Those limiting belief stories that keep us stuck and we don’t even know we are living our life by them. If this story is keeping me from stretching myself physically, mentally or emotionally, then it’s worth examining. When we stretch past our comfort zone we build selfconfidence and self-trust. I can’t do this turns into I CAN! My belief is that most of our daily living is consumed with stories we tell ourselves. It plays out in different forms depending on the circumstance, but it’s still a story. This story is not necessarily based on truth but instead what we choose to believe. If you believe your (fill in the blank) will never be better or your friend really meant (fill in the blank) when she said such and such, then you’ve just written your own script. In the book , “Wild”, by Cheryl Strayed, she writes, “ I knew if I allowed fear to overtake me, my journey was doomed. Fear, to a great extent, is born of a story we tell ourselves, and so I chose to tell myself a different story from the one women are told.” Go change your story to an ending you want!

Not Broken: Taking Things One Step At A Time Have you ever felt as if you were done....at the end of your rope....nothing left.....shattered.... broken? There are a lot of expressions for the empty feeling when you feel as though you have nothing left to give to a person, your family, your job, a situation, but while it is a red flag that you need to make some changes (pronto), it doesn’t have to be permanent. There is a difference between how you feel and who you are. A situation can make you feel tired and worn out, and even get the better of you at times, but it doesn’t have to break you. Often we think we have to be strong and solve everything ourselves, which only adds to the burden when we are faced with challenges in life. And since we tend to be impatient, we want the solution to magically present itself rightt now, which only adds to the pressure.

Once you figure out that you don’t have to have all the answers today, you can start to tackle the things coming at you in smaller, more manageable pieces. Taking each day and each situation one step at a time helps you start to see solutions instead of just more problems. And it’s perfectly OK to decide not to make any decisions until you feel ready if you don’t really have to....because even though we all go through challenging times, none of us have to stay broken.

Changing The Way We Age What does “aging” mean to you? If you buy into the stereotypes, then growing older means sitting in a rocker while the world passes you by. But the facts are very different. Consider: • More than three in four Boomers intend to work well into their 70s. • Three in four people ages 65 and older rate their health as good, very good, or excellent. • More than 90% of older adults have no functional limitations requiring help from others. The International Council on Active Aging’s (ICAA) Champions program is made up of organizations and individuals committed to shifting society’s perceptions of aging by serving as role models and educators in the community. ICAA has started this important campaign called “Changing The Way We Age ®”. This campaign aims to accomplish this shift in perception within the seven dimensions of wellness—emotional, vocational, physical, spiritual, intellectual,

social and environmental. ICAA Champions also encourages others to earn their Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA), and supports First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move! Initiative,” which provides opportunities for intergenerational events that build relationships between youth and older people. SENIOR FITNESS Optimizing Your Mind, Health, and Well-Being by Giving Back “The best exercise for your heart is in reaching down and lifting others up through charity work.” (Belsheba Nyabwa, 2010). Truer words have never been spoken. I’m not sure if you know this, but recent studies have shown that money can buy happiness. As long as you’re spending it on others, that is, and not on yourself. Americans give roughly $300 billion to several charitable organizations every year. Atlanta is a wonderful representative of this number. Many of Atlantans offer up their time and money to local non-profits (Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, the Ovarian and Breast Cancer Associations, the Red Cross, etc.) time and time again. These are all important and muchneeded organizations that have saved many lives. There is one group of Atlanta residents, however, who are unfortunately, often overlooked. Our senior citizens. The elderly and frail. Whatever you wish to call them, this group of individuals desperately needs our help. With the baby boomer population growing exponentially, this is an issue we can no longer ignore. We all have parents, grandparents, neighbors, and friends who have reached the “senior” age group. Some of these “seniors” have a fixed income, or no income, relying solely on the generosity of others. Senior Services North Fulton (SSNF) is a charitable organization that is working diligently to make sure the aging population is provided for, and provided for well. SSNF provides Meals on Wheels (MOW), transportation to physicians’ appointments (TOPS), respite and personal home care, and free access to one of three senior activity centers. This organization brings caring and peace of mind to a great deal of the elderly in our community. SSNF holds only one fundraiser a year. 2013’s fundraiser, “Heart and Soul: Celebrating the Lives of Seniors” is quickly approaching the need for sponsors is greater than ever. WINE & FOOD Limoncello Here’s the scenario; you’ve just finished a wonderful dinner with friends and it’s a hot summer evening, much like last night. You want a special after dinner drink that’s cool and refreshing. What would that be? Limoncello may be?

Transfer the limoncello to bottles. Seal the bottles and refrigerate until cold, at least 4 hours and up to 1 month.

Limoncello is an after dinner lemon liqueur. This dessert liquor originated in Southern Italy, possibly along the Amalfi Coast, and no doubt by someone who really needed to be cooled off. Lemon zest, sugar and alcohol make this delicious concoction that is so full of lemon flavor that you would almost forget it had alcohol in it. Now, you can purchase Limoncello at your local liqueur store. There are many producers to choose from and you can’t go wrong with your selection as long as it was produced in Italy. But you know what would be even better?….... having the recipe and making it yourself. Here’s the recipe for homemade Limoncello: Limoncello courtesy of Giada De Laurentiis 10 lemons 1 (750-ml) bottle vodka 3 1/2 cups water 2 1/2 cups sugar Using a vegetable peeler, remove the peel from the lemons in long strips (reserve the lemons for another use). Using a small sharp knife, trim away the white pith from the lemon peels; discard the pith. Place the lemon peels in a 2-quart pitcher. Pour the vodka over the peels and cover with plastic wrap. Steep the lemon peels in the vodka for 4 days at room temperature. Stir the water and sugar in a large saucepan over medium heat until the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Cool completely. Pour the sugar syrup over the vodka mixture. Cover and let stand at room temperature overnight. Strain the limoncello through a mesh strainer. Discard the peels.

Chilled Saffron Flavored Tomato and Red Bell Pepper Soup I learned to make this soup years ago. The same comment comes back every time: “How much cream did you put in there?” Same answer: None… The secret is to blend the soup for 5 minutes and then strain it through a fine strainer. Ingredients list: 2 tblsp extra virgin oil 1 white onion (small dices) 1 large red bell pepper (medium dices and seedless) 6 medium heirloom tomatoes (cut in quarters) 2 pinch saffron, salt and pepper.

In a pot, over a medium heat pour the olive oil. Add the onion, stir and suet until it become translucent. Add the bell pepper. Stir for 4-5 minutes. Don’t let brown anything. Add saffron, tomatoes, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and cover the pot. After 5 minutes, low down the heat and let it simmer for 20 minutes. The vegetables are going to render their natural water. Check out the seasoning before blending. That way you will get rid of the black pepper and have a beautiful deep orange color without black points. Blend and strain. This soup is great chilled or warm. That’s up to you.
