While it would be ideal to have unlimited square footage to work with, sometimes you just have to get creative with your current space. By following a few easy and clever tips, you can make your laundry room both an aesthetically pleasing and functional space. Keep reading to find out how to make your laundry room work for you. MAKE USE OF VERTICAL SPACE WITH A STACK ABLE L AUNDRY SET-UP Is your laundry room smaller? You can still get a lot done in it with a stacked laundry set-up. Not only do they save plenty of space, they’re also more energy efficient. When installing, keep in mind to alway stack your dryer on top as they’re lighter. Washing machines are heavy, and when they’re filled with water, they tend to vibrate more and could create a hazard. If searching for a larger design, the LG wash tower has innovation that allows you to reach the console without using a step stool. You can also look for 24” luxury washer and dryer models to accommodate smaller spaces. INSTALL A HANGING ROD TO DRY YOUR CLOTHES Drying racks are practical, but they can get in the way and take up floor space. To maximize the space in your

MA XIMIZE THE SPACE BET WEEN YOUR LUXURY WASHER AND DRYER A slim pull-out storage cart that fits in between your luxury washer and dryer can store more than you might think. These types of carts usually have at least three tiers of shelves so you can store frequently used items like detergent, soap and cleaning supplies no problem. Look for a cart that has wheels so that you can pull it out easily and push it back in place when it’s not in use. WHAT DOES THIS LOOK LIKE? We’ll see interior designers employing a mixture of tonalities leaning toward the brown and tan side of the spectrum. A new, richer colour palette of oranges, reds, greens, yellows, purples and blues containing warm, brown undertones with more muted toned that are flat, deep and rich.

INGREDIENTS • 1 1/2 cups dried orzo • 1 can (110g) smoked trout, drained and cut into bite size pieces • 1 bunch of fresh asparagus, thinly sliced • 1 pint cherry tomatoes, cut into quarters • 150g feta cheese, crumbled • 4 tbsp drained and rinsed capers • 1/2 lemon, juiced • 1/3 cup olive oil • 1/8 cup chopped fresh dill • 1/4 tsp salt • fresh ground pepper Prep Time: 20 minutes | Serves: 4

DIRECTIONS STEP ONE Cook orzo according to package directions. Rinse with cold water until the pasta has cooled down completely. Rinse well and add to medium sized salad bowl. STEP TWO While the orzo is cooking, drain the trout, and the capers and add to salad bowl. STEP THREE Add tomatoes and feta to salad bowl. STEP FOUR FOR THE ASPARAGUS: no need to cook this. Remove about 1”- 2” from bottom of asparagus. Cut the stalks into bite-sized pieces and thinly slice them. Add to salad bowl. STEP FIVE In a small bowl mix the salad dressing (oil, lemon, dill, salt and pepper). STEP SIX Add dressing to salad and gently toss to coat all ingredients. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate. Keeps for 2 days.
