Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices first made headlines for entering the Canadian Real Estate Market in February. What was your reaction to hearing such a global brand showcase interest in the Toronto Market? P: As with everyone, I was home mid to late March when I started noticing targeted Instagram and Facebook ads about BHHS Toronto. I instantly became intrigued and started conducting some of my own research. From there, I reached out to Mark Wadden and the rest is history! After so many years of working under the Royal LePage brand, what inspired you to

make the transition to BHHS? P: Royal LePage has been an amazing company to help grow my Real Estate career. I’ve also been fortunate enough to create lifelong relationships with both colleagues and clients along the way. For me, the inspiration in making the transition to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices is personal growth. Of course, there’s a level of excitement in being involved with anything relating to Berkshire Hathaway. But, the notion of getting involved in something with unlimited potential on the ground level is something that I have always wanted to evolve into in my Real Estate career.

The power of the BHHS brand is unparalleled. How do you plan to harness that power to benefit your clients? P: Since beginning my career in Real Estate, I’ve been a huge believer in the power of branding. In fact, I truly believe that the concept of branding runs parallel with a high level of customer service. That being said, Berkshire Hathaway is one of the most recognizable brands in the world. When I was in business school in the late 90’s, we did case studies on Warren Buffett and his business practices. If that doesn’t showcase the power of this brand over time, I don’t know what does! One of the most prominent advantages of the BHHS brand is the opportunity for international exposure and referrals. In what ways do you see these factors strengthening your business? P: As a seasoned Broker, I realized that I had become slightly complacent in the bubble of “West Toronto” that I mainly traded in. That being said, I’ve become increasingly aware of the need for global reach in the world of Real Estate. This isn’t only in terms of marketing my seller’s properties, but also the potential referral network. I’m also looking forward to establishing new relationships and collaborating with international colleagues. You grew up in Toronto’s West End and continue to live there with your family today. Since you began your career in 2003, you’ve dominated much of that market. As an industry leader, how do you foresee BHHS succeeding in this market? P: For starters, my plan is “business as usual”. I’m happy to announce that my entire team is remaining intact along with The Andrea Morrison Team. We will continue to deliver a full concierge level of Real Estate sales and match it with unparalleled access to both online and print media. From there, I foresee organic growth in not only our team’s business, but also overall Brokerage growth as well. When other Sales Representatives witness our signs and success, they’ll feel inclined to get involved and join the brand. You just can’t help but want to be part of the BHHS success story. What can you tell us about the BHHS leadership team in Toronto? What attributes gave you the confidence to partner with this team? P: Right from the beginning, I knew this would be a great partnership and I drew a lot of similarities between

us all - the co-founders Mark Wadden (CEO) and Blair (President), as well as Senior Partner Stephanie Newlands, who will eventually be the Broker of Record in our West End office. It’s a true privilege to work alongside her. I’ve always prided myself on having a strong moral compass in both my personal life as well as my business. When I met with this team, I felt confident that our ethics were aligned and that we would benefit greatly from working together. I was also impressed by the level of infrastructure and the support systems that the team has built over the years. The systems that BHHS Toronto has in place are truly second-to-none. From day one, the support and guidance that I have received as a Broker has been unbeatable and I believe that will largely contribute to my overall success. Paul, since you began your career in Real Estate, you’ve been no stranger to awards and honourable mentions. For the past several years, you continued to rank amongst the top Royal LePage Realtors. How do you see BHHS enhancing your success even further? P: Thank you! Yes, in 2019 our team achieved recognition for being the number 1 team in West Toronto as well as number 4 in Canada. These awards and recognition are incredibly humbling when you’re being compared to so many other notable brokers. If anything, it’s one way to set yourself apart from the herd. Being at BHHS will be a totally different animal there will be no herd so to speak of. I think combining a well-known and respected brand in the Toronto Real Estate community with the international recognition of Berkshire Hathaway can be equated to major league baseball moving the home run fences in 50 feet! You’ve entered this new phase of your career at an unprecedented time in the market. What can Toronto look forward to seeing from both yourself and BHHS in the near future? P: I won’t lie, making this move during the Covid-19 global crisis was a bold move. However, I think it speaks to how excited and confident I am in both my Paul Nusca Real Estate Team and Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices. KEEP YOUR STONE PAVER WEED-FREE ONE OF THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS WITH STONE PAVERS IS WEEDS. TO KEEP YOUR STONE PAVERS WEED FREE, HERE ARE SOME EASY AND EFFECTIVE ORGANIC TECHNIQUES. 1 / CLOVE OIL MIXTURE A mixture of vinegar and clove oil is very effective in removing weeds. To prepare, take a container of 5 litre capacity, and mix 600 ml clove oil with 2.5 litre of 20% strong vinegar. Fill the rest of the container with clean water. Mix the solution so that it becomes homogenous. To use, take around 1 litre of solution in a garden sprayer and spray at the roots of the weeds. The strong active elements in the solution burn and kill the weeds. This will ensure that your stone driveway is free of weeds for several months.

Before you use the organic solution, conduct a spot test to ensure that the vinegar does not bleach the stone paver. Spray diluted vinegar on an inconspicuous 2’ x 2’ patch on your stone paver. Wait for a few hours and check for any discolouration. If you don’t see any difference on the paver, you can do ahead with the treatment. 2 / CALCIUM CHLORIDE OR ROCK SALT For effective weed removal, you should use the pellet form of Calcium chloride or rock salt. Sprinkle the salt of calcium chloride granules on the soil where weeds grow. Once done, spray water on the pellets using a garden sprayer and avoid flooding the area. You need to repeat spraying water on three consecutive days if the weather is very dry and on three alternate days if the humidity is high. 3 / CALL US, WE CAN HELP If you plan to use readymade weed removal agents, make sure that they are non-toxic.
